The human nose recognizes different scents within seconds and stores the information in the brain. Once that information is stored, you can’t smell that same smell as vividly as you first did. So basically once you smell something, your nose and brain retain that info and makes room for new smells...all in seconds. Have you ever noticed that when you think of someone no longer alive or far away, you can actually remember their scent or perfume? Like you don’t smell them, you just know the scent. If he can smell himself that vividly for a long time then he no longer just requires a shower... he needs an entire skin transplant and deodorant lol.
