These were unbelievably great times back in the 1980's! We were listening to these great performers back then and we were all so young and there was so much ahead of us. Kinda makes me sad to think about how good things were back then versus today. The world has changed so much in such a short time and I just wish we could all go back to this wonderful period of time and be young and healthy again.
I had the good fortune of seeing Ms Grant back in the day right before she it the big big time with hits like the #1 hit "Baby Baby". Mr. Smith was right with her. A couple year later I got to see Mr. Smith in concert with supporting acts DC Talk and Renee Garcia. Both totally fabulous concerts!
i agree, along with david meece. they were my musical bread and butter from age 11 to today at 36. God used their music to save my life and through my darkest times. there were others before them, but these three put ccm on the map!!!
55 yo male who still loves this song. Bought this cassette as soon as it came out. Had the biggest crush on Amy back in the early 80's!! Those eyes, Wow!!!!!! We just have to be very careful that we are worshiping God the Father, and not the music, or the musicians. Very thin line that young Christians have to be very careful of. Other than that, enjoy the music!
I grew up with these guys.Love their music. I'm in my late 40's and love listening to this music. When I feel down and things don't seem to be going right, I pull their music up and I feel so much better. The power of music and God!!! Thank you.
Not a Christian here. Never have been. I AM, however, a big fan of Amy. She's always been great and is truly on fire here. Listen to those light, highly melodic vocals and tell me she wasn't in her element. Then there's the smooth synthesizers, the throbbing bass, the hypnotic drums...and a blistering guitar solo to cap it all off. She was, is and will always be a queen. Simply stunning.

I remember being a kid and I used to watch this video on VHS.. DC talk too. Oh the nostalgia.. even though I fell away from Christianity I still enjoy the music so maybe I'm holding on still inside..
+PhoenixOrichimaru I felt God tugging on my heart to talk to you. I understand that though. Sometimes we get trapped by the false prophets and weird traditions of the religious leaders of Christianity. however, Jesus still loves you and wants to grow in relationship with you. Like a real father, always caring and waiting for your response. He isn't limited to the traditions of man, Just call on him in your struggles. I promise you'll find peace in your heart if you do. Hang in there buddy. Jesus said: "Come to me all who labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
Love WILL find a way, if it is true love, if not then set it free and find that true love, not in another's arms. It will never work. Not in material wealth, it will fade. Not in substances, they will run out or your time will. Find true love within yourself. THEN you can love others so deeply, you bring them to their inner love within. Then you can share true love together.
These were the best days of Amy Grant. She had such great music during this time period. I think her music peaked with the album Straight Ahead. The world and worldliness does corrupt. It's a pity so many artists used (and use today) the Christian music industry as a way to gain personal fame and fortune and spotlight themselves in the name of Our Lord. In the end, like their secular counterparts, they fall and fade. For those of you sitting in judgment over Amy and MW Smith, like Gerard here, do not think the artists you listen to today are any different, or that you are immune in your own way. I am blessed and humbled to have been able to profess my Christian faith for over 50 years--Most of my Christian friends have not lasted that long. In fact, I can't think of any. That's probably because the Catholic faith plummets the depths of God's reality in ways the non-Catholic Christian sects cannot--faaaaaact. (Standing by for the hate). See Mt 13 for details and watch that does not become you.
See the HAPPY ppl. in the audience ALL=smiling/...& this is NOT: merely bkuz they are at a concert of celebrated, talented entertainers" either!!!! L-O-V-E is being "obviously felt/Believed-in here!!!!" /:
