I remember watching The Police Academy as a kid and I always thought the sound effects were fake. Turns out this guy is for real. Unique talent indeed. We will never find another one like him!
Same and even if I see it now it’s still as good as it was then it’s a shame that the kids of today miss the little things that can make someone happy or is that just age lol
An inspiration to do what? Free to grab the microphone and travel the world with a small amplifier and make noises with your mouth? Yeah not me buddy I'll leave you to it
I bent over and burst out laughing when I got to that part. Definitely don't miss the lead-up from about 4:22 (including the *incredible* kick that sounds like a door slam).
5:47 Everybody's first time with a V8 usually ends up like this (especially if most of the things you've driven until now has been 1.9 Straight-4 diesel-engines).
The Stig I live near Toronto Canada and I went to exotic car tours in Oakville. They have a Ferrari 430, 360, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mucielago, Audi R8, Porsche Carrera 4S, Dodge Viper a Nissan GT-R and others.
For those of you that own anything powered by the Oldsmobile 5.7 diesel V8, the sound of the starter motor is probably all you're going to hear if you treat the engine as bad as its track record suggests. That is, at least that's what will be happening if you don't wait for the glow plug warning light to go out before you whiz away on the starter motor.
Winslow in school. Teacher: what do you want to be when you grow up michael. Winslow: i wanna voice act. Teacher: oh ok! What kind of roles you want to play. Winslow in demonic voice: EVERYTHINGGGGGG!!!!
I met Michael at the Sci-Fi convention in Malmö / Sweden a couple of years ago, he's just as nutty / funny in person. A truly special individual and all around great guy.
This is the real deal, his sound effects dont sound as if they are generated from the human body at all. I didnt think much of this guy at first and thought his performance in Police Academy movies were fake, not anymore.
With the microphone he uses effect pedals to add reverb and distortion (look to his left foot, at 13:29, and how the sound changes). But, look, this is NOT a demerit. On the contrary: shows that, in addition to talented, he is brilliant using his equipment, just like musicians must be, using their instruments.
For those unlucky owners of any car or truck that had an Oldsmobile 5.7 diesel V8, they're basically just wearing out their starter motors if they treat these engines as bad as their reliability record suggests. To all you unlucky souls: WAIT FOR THE GLOW PLUG WARNING LIGHT TO GO OUT BEFORE YOU TURN THE KEY ANY FURTHER!
He's using actual guitar effects on his voice. I can't tell if he turns them on himself via a stomp box on the floor or if he's got a soundman who knows his routine, but they're turned on at precisely the moment he needs them. He's still the best guitarist I know to this day who doesn't actually play a guitar. :P
@@UCONN_HUSKIES it’s obvious to any guitarist that’s a distortion effect. Achieved by either making the sound clip by holding his mouth close to the mic, or by using a pedal. Either way it isn’t organic, but that’s still part of his talent: being able to use the mic like an instrument!
I remember being very sick when I was around 10 and being introduced to this guy by my Mom while I was waiting to get checked in the my local hospital. That night changed my comedic humor forever. Thanks, Ma!
