He did try many times to reverse it though and show people that he is a normal human. I feel like people in recent years are only just now starting to understand him and it's sad it took that long.

He used a lightening cream called benoquin that's prescribed to vitiligo patients. It also ONLY works on vitiligo patients. "Bleaching" is classified as much more harmful and can do liver damage. So he wasn't bleaching and he technically told the truth.

there's a cream that people with vitiligo use that lightens up the dark spots on the skin, but it only works if you have the condition, so if your skin is healthy and you don't have vitiligo the cream doesn't have any effects on your skin tone
