A two-handed pianist. What a concept! Michel should be a guidepost for those pianists who simply 'chord' with their left hand & play 'melody' with their right hand. He's truly one of the most accomplished artists this world has ever had the delight of witnessing. Truly a giant.

Michel Camilo! What an amazing person! I remember Michel Camilo’s first album: Why Not? You can hear me playing Amazing Grace after Franz Liszt (RU-vid), and I owe much to Michel Camilo and Russian pianist Vladimir Horowitz: my two main idols in my formative years.

Yes, life is like letter Y indeed. I know everyone will tell you that life is not black and white, that there are shades. But when it comes to making decisions, it's either yes or no. You can't go both directions [Ed. Note: each the chocolate and have it]. If you choose the direction you don't fully like, you won't be happy in the end. If you choose the direction you like at the moment, there are chances you will like it at some point in the future, too. I find that very often if we revisit something that we liked in the past, it can grow on us even more at the present, and in the future. Now, the problem is that the influence of the peers, media, commerce and such, is that we think we should like what the majority of the population likes. That's certainly useful for basic survival; however, to achieve mastery like Mr. Camilo, you can't just simply follow the crowd. You have to make that decision what you really like, and strive for it. If it doesn't come to you tomorrow, it might come in several years. But it might come. If you go the crowd pleaser direction, if you might find out that you basically sold your soul for others to exploit it, and then recycle when it's no longer needed. So beware! :)
