This is a combination made in heaven, Grammy, Latin Grammy and Emmy Award winner, jazz pianist Michel Camilo and Spaniard Flamenco guitarist Tomatito. They play together as if they were sent from heaven to delight the lovers of magnificent music. This new album has to be nominated for a Grammy and a Latin Grammy as Best Latin Jazz Album. The Grammys and the Latin Grammys have stolen plenty of awards from Michel Camilo, already. How can he have not received both awards for the albums "One More Once", "Solo", "Mano a Mano", "On Fire" and "Thru My Eyes": it's what one can call repeated injustices, but the irony of it all is that the Grammys gave him an award for "Live at The Blue Note" which is a two disc synthesis of his career up to that point. This says his career is a Grammy worthy career, so why did they NOT award him the others? Michel Camilo should have 20 awards between Grammys and Latin Grammys. Believe me, I am NOT exaggerating. He is that good!!! He is what you call a musician's musician. He is so great, that the day he is no longer with us(That would be a heart-breaking day by the way, because I will miss him until the day I die.), his catalog will make more money than what he has made and remains to make still. If you don't believe me, get his music and see if he doesn't blow your mind away. Thank you, Michel, for being the soundtrack to my life and my family's. I started listening to your music when I met my wife. I went to the record shop with her to order from Japan your albums "Suntan" and "Why Not?". Since then, I married her and have been married to her for 26 years. I have two beautiful kids who both play the piano, alto sax and clarinet. The whole family loves your music. My kids think you're a God. Thanks, for all the joy you given us for almost 3 decades!!! May God Bless you and give you health, so that we can enjoy your talents for at least 3 more decades.
How can they come up with such a clear guitar sound? Whenever you try to play guitar + piano, (guitar without amplifier) you will experience drowning of the guitar. This was so beautifully recorded! ❤
The World Premiere Concert of MICHEL CAMILO & TOMATITO - SPAIN FOREVER will be for the Barcelona Int'l Jazz Festival at the Palau de la Música on November 18, 2016.
