In recognition of his great contribution to Canadian culture and collective memory through his literary work and his extensive journalism, Michel Jean is a 2023 Library and Archives Canada Scholar. The LAC Scholar Awards were created to recognize remarkable Canadians who have made an outstanding contribution to the creation and promotion of our country’s culture, literary heritage and historical knowledge.
