Thanks for making this video. Excellent way of demonstrating the snow capability on these All -Weather tires that can be used all year round without swapping (still needs rotation every 6,000miles). I check the tire pressure weekly and add 4 psi based on the coldest outdoor temperture of the week as the manual recommends for winter deriving condition and keeps the MPG up as well.

I have a manual jetta. I stopped on a steep incline with snow turned off traction control blipped the rpm from 5000 to 1500 and was able to get the car moving basically making the car slip uphill repeatedly reving to 5000 then dropping to 1500. Best tires in the world.

Just got a set of these on a VW AWD. Excellent in dry, wet so far. No snow yet. At least as smooth and quiet as the OEM Giti all-seasons. No drop in MPG. Also they smell really good and 'rubbery'. Cons: the tread picks up rocks but I get to enjoy the scent while removing them.

Thanks for this video. Good to see an end user review. The 'Tyre' ones are useful but, I appreciate this one more. Bought a set of the CC2s this summer but I'm not running them in the snow this year. I still have a set of Blizzaks that perform well but have developed a 'woob woob' noise after 6 seasons of use so this is their last ride. I'm headed to sun country in a couple of weeks and will swap the CC2s on before leaving and will have no concerns should we hit snow on the way home. Now, what to do with the second set of wheels? Answer, put on a nice set of ATs so I can roll the dirt roads and moderate trails without worry. 2016 VW Touareg TDI

Snow, ice test .. indeed, modern all weather tires are surprisingly capable. Still, jack of all trades, master of none. Running right tires for the job imho is by far better choice then using universal compromise. Most commonly heard argument that it's to save money, while forgetting that tires used only in "their season" will also halve their wear, thus in long term spending will be same, but one will have best grip and handling all the time without anything compromised.

The premium for buying all seasons can be put towards buying dedicated winter tyres. And the performance and wear will be much better having a set for summer and a set for winter. I just don't use my car if the conditions don't allow me to. Otherwise I would get a set of winter tyres.
@church493
@church493 Год назад
@@chrishart8548 for many "don't use my car" is not much of an option. As car often is less of optional extra for fun, but more of essential transportation means for getting to/from distant work/shops and such. There can also be some unplanned emergency cases (eg. taking someone to hospital) that may coincide with bad weather with "must get there" need. Imho choice of having proper tires mostly fits the bill best. It's not THAT expensive to prep car for weather/season this way, and one can rely on ability, if need arises, to get wherever one needs with no drama. That aside, i even enjoy driving on snow/ice (on properly prepped vehicle).
@chrishart8548
@chrishart8548 Год назад
@@church493 if I did use my car and rely on it I would definitely invest in the correct tyres for the conditions. I'm actually taking my car off the road for a wile. I can't really afford to have one. A car should never be viewed as essential. That is still an opinion. Is it not. I was never even planning to do my driving test. I believe in the next 10 years a lot of people won't have the luxury of a car.

I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue with 22,000 miles on it, I am not at all impressed with the crappy Falcon tires it came with. @45eno
@45eno Год назад
Seems like maybe 5% of the AWD owners even consider proper tires. We have a bunch of ignorant people in the US when it comes to AWD. Even at my work where weather cannot be a reason to not respond we have majority of people saying "it has AWD it'll do good in the snow". Took some effort to have them mount tires with a 3peak rating on them. Sad all the people that spend more on AWD and then when the snow finally arrives they are less safe stopping for a red light than a Honda Civic with a proper tires installed. And their mind cannot comprehend what crazy nonsense you are saying when you mention their stock tires AWD is worse off that any regular FWD with winters in 90% of paved road snow/ice conditions. Who cares if you can accelerate a little better if you can't stop any better. False confidence gained when people can start up no problem but then get up to 45mph on slick conditions and still holding onto that confidence they drive too fast in turns and stopping. Every winter I see mostly AWD / 4X4 spun out compared to regular cars. I think regular car drivers are just as ignorant but they know to drive slower not because the lack of tires but the lack of AWD. Still they drive within reason where the soccer mom in her SUV AWD goes driving by too fast for the tires ability to maintain grip. If only people understood this the roads would be far safer even without everyone buying proper tires. Just understanding they don't have a miracle snow vehicle but it's no better than just about any other car on paved road snowy conditions. AWD has some benefits like acceleration in wet roads and slow off road driving but it gains you very little on icy / snowy road conditions except for a little extra acceleration with all season tires. Combine AWD w/ winter tires and you now have the best consumer level winter vehicle ready to take on the icy paved roads.
@Gadgeteverything
@Gadgeteverything Год назад
Agreed! Thx for elaborating. Stopping power is important. These are the best overall tires. We haven’t had to put on our snow tires.

@@Gadgeteverything Nice. But these are a snow rated tire. I’ve thought about running them on my 2nd set of wheels instead of blizzaks.
@TheRealMrGuvernment
@TheRealMrGuvernment Год назад
@@45eno Snow rated but still "all-seasons" which means they are "okay" for snow depending and ice, but a pure snow tire is going to be better. It all depends on HOW much snow you deal with and how cold things get. The colder it gets, the worse "all seasons" even snow rated perform. Proper snow tires use softer materials, those softer materials do not do well in + temps, so you get trade offs on both ends of the spectrum.. Snow tires are required in many places, but, ignorant people think "i got all seasons with the snow peaks i am as safe as someone with full snow tires" , no, you are not.
@45eno
@45eno Год назад
@@TheRealMrGuvernment yep sounds like you and I agree and know about tires. I currently run Michelin Defender All Seasons on both AWD RAV4 and FWD SIENNA for 9-10months out of the year. I have Blizzak DMV2 and WS90 for them when the first ice/snow hits. Due to my weather conditions that is mostly cold and wet in the winter I have considered the Cross Climate 2 in place of my blizzaks as a better for the avg conditions tire. Will lose the better grip for snow but better overall grip for the majority of conditions we drive on. Black ice also is a concern for my commute as I usually am up early when the wet roads have the greatest chance to freeze over. I get 3-4 seasons out of my soft blizzaks so I might just stick to the better snow/ice tire with the blizzak as I swap them out myself for the worst of our seasons.
@JohnSmith-se5vo
@JohnSmith-se5vo Год назад
@TheRealMrGuvernment tyre choice also depends on where you live as well. In the UK we get very little snow, probably around a few days in the whole year and even then its very little snow. People cannot justify winter tyres for such little snow (I know winter tyres are for when temp drop below 7 degrees) but many people are riding on summer tyres all year round.. when the snow does come, they are not prepared. For such situations, all season tyres are more suited for climates like the UK where you don't have to swap tyres every 6 months. The snow rating on all season tyres is more than adequate for the UK weather. If you live in a climate when you get lots of snow and heavy snow then yes I'd agree winter tyres are the best option.

Really does not show you much. Its all about clearance I can drive my Landrover that has huge clearance through any of that with old non snow tires and never come close to getting stuck and I could put CC2 on a lower car like a Volt and get stuck. Цитата - "Шина демонстрирует управляемость и улучшенное торможение в условиях внезапно выпавшего снега..." т.е. данная модель будет стабильнее конкурентов в подобных условиях, но при этом не является зимней шиной!
