We take it all the way back to the beginning of Michelle's career in this episode and it's such an inspirational story of perseverance. Michelle grew up in Essex, and started her career in theatre (even understudying ten role at once!) before she got the break of a lifetime, starring in Downton Abbey.
Ten years later, after six seasons, a movie and four Emmy award nominations for Michelle, we are heading back to Grantham for the a new film, 'Downton Abbey: A New Era'.
It is also a new era for Michelle, as she recently starred in Netflix’s 'Anatomy of a Scandal' as bad babe barrister, Kate who represents a woman accusing her former boss of rape. Starring alongside Sienna Miller and Naomi Scott, the plot twists were juicy - so be warned there are some spoilers in this episode.
Today we talk about returning to Downton, how working on Anatomy of a Scandal made Michelle reflect on how sets can be so male dominated, and how she felt truly in her own power when she turned 40. Plus she shares how she came the bad babe barrister we are all obsessed with in Anatomy of a Scandal.
