I remember watching Supercop in the theaters obviously Jackie stood out but i didn't expect her to stand out too, the crazy crap she actually did and the fact she was competitive with Jackie Chan made me never forget Michelle Yeoh, a legit badass.
Michelle Yeoh is one and only the Warrior Queen, she is so real not only a legendary stunt actress but a very talented and passionate in drama, she deserved the Oscar no doubt
One of my personal action movie heroes Max Zhang was a stuntman who worked with Michelle in many movies and now they are costars. Max talked about how nice Michelle was to stunt team over the years and it’s very sweet to see beautiful work relationships in the industry. She is legend.
I was fortunate enough to watch Crouching Tiger,, Hidden Dragon for the first time in the theatre about six weeks ago. It was a real treat to see it on the big screen. She's amazing and I think the two of you should do reaction videos together for any of Michelle's movies. I would be here in a hot minute to watch. Love your dynamic together.
She’s great! As amazing as the story about the windshield was, that was not even her worse fall. I remember her telling a story about jumping of a bridge(?) and she landed badly so she basically folded backwards, the back of her legs hit the back of her head and she heard a snap. She had to be hospitalized and have surgery. The only thing that saved her from worse damage was that she was a ballerina in the past, and she had a lot of flexibility. She called her parents from the hospital and told them to ignore the news, that it was a publicity stunt 😅… just to not scare them.
First role I ever saw her in was Tomorrow Never Dies. Now I was a big martial arts fan and it bummed me out that I never heard of her. So immediately after I went on a Michelle Yeoh binge watching spree. Watched everything I could get a VHS on. Super Cop, Heroic Trio, Wing Chun, Royal Warriors, etc. I wanted to slap myself because I never recognized she played opposite Jet Li in Tai Chi Master which I had seen many times. Either way outta nowhere Crouching Tiger comes out and I had no clue it was even in production. I go see it and it ended up being one of my top 3 greatest theater experiences ever. The film blew me away and Michelle floored me with her acting. I was a fan for life from that moment on. She's on a very short list of people, along with Denzel Washington & Tom Cruise, who I will watch anything they're in. Love how this interview ends with her being in tears being able to finally play a role she can fully display what she is capable of as an actress and it would lead to her winning the Academy Award. I can't even begin to stress how happy I am for her.
I remember as a kid pursuit VHS movies of Michelle Yeoh: Yes, Madam with Cynthia Rothrock, Tai Chi Master with Jet Li, Wing Chun with Donnie Yen more than 30 years what a ride.
Steph, sounds like you just missed the 25th anniversary restored rerelease of Crouching Tiger on the big screen. I saw it up at Universal Citywalk, but was lucky enough to see it when it first came out, and own the bluray DVD. In my top 5 favorite films of all time. I also have the special edition DVDs of all the Police Story films, but Michelle in the third one showed what a total badass she was. Criterion Channel last month had I think it was 7 or 8 of her best films, some which are impossible to find on DVD. She's just amazing and thank god Jackie Chan turned down "Everything Everywhere All At Once". It forced Daniels to rewrite the script and let Michelle be the lead and won her a fucking Oscar. What a Queen.
Everything Everywhere All At Once is the kind of movie that I actually refuse to not think about, Because I won't sleep whole night. All my nerdiness, all my imagination , I used to think I am mad thinking about these things. all my thoughts right from childhood to this day "A kids fantasy and imagination to the philosophy of a grown up" built into one movie bringing it into reality. My God that movie overwhelms me. I can't describe.
I didn't find this out until recently, but her character from Tomorrow Never Dies was apparently supposed to get her own movie. It's a bummer it didn't happen, though. That could've been awesome.
first time i noticed michelle was in crouching tiger, back then i thought wow she's a great beautiful actress, can do action and drama. i became a fan since then.
Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but, does andrew have a medical condition of some sort? He's always super sleepy in all the videos I've watched him in. He even let out a yawn a couple times in this one. If it's not medical, he should probably not appear in videos in the future if he's not even interested in being in them. Takes you out of the reaction/video as soon as you look at his sleepy demeanour. (again, if it's medical, I apologize)
