Dude, this video is getting traction, please fix that thumbnail she was never EN, she was from ID, though I don’t know if it was as bad as EN, it was still different management to my understanding
@@sportballotaku2139A little bit, the Vtubers they have from other past agencies, most if not all, left in good terms with said agency. The ones that were from Kurosanji were who needed to heal. And a Sanji graduates a whole lot more than anyone else, so if anything, its that Sanji floods the market with it, so VShoujo just have to take it
This is unacceptably similar to those videos you see of pet owners showing of their wonderful dogs that start with "They were rescued from an abusive home..."
Actually, a better example is a Zoo animal trying to return to nature... The amount of trauma that Zoo animals go through is about par for the course for Nijisanji
Or an abused dog being shown love. A friend of mine has one of those. The dog shoves a bunch of food into his mouth before eating it in a corner, because he was constantly fighting other dogs for food.
Matara said similar when she started, but more on the fact of how shocking it was that with Vshojo, when she says to the managers that she wants to do something, they're all instantly on-board, asking if she needs art, music, etc, and it just took her by complete surprise compared to what she was used to. It says a hell of a lot about Niji that managers actually supporting their talents feels bizarre to her.
I think Nijisanji and VShojo are the two opposite sides of the spectrum. Nijisanji is like the old music label boss. A VShojo manager is more like an agent in entertainment or a lawyer or accountant, who you pay to do things for you.
Again, its good to see that they have really taken the manager role seriously after their slip ups in the past. Seeing any kind of company or organization ACTUALLY LEARN FROM MISTAKES is a rarity these days.
@@autohmae I'd take it a step further and classify VShojo as a band. The members basically own the company, and they employ the management wing. It's a little more centralized than various talents employing the same agent.
I remember when Niji was "where the cool kids are" and Vshojo was this "who? idk maybe they'll stay around for a year or something". Oh how things change.
well compared with what they can say vs holo they do, but holo treats their employees a little better. Phase Connect Idol or Vshojo are better though in terms of almost everything. Vshojo has clique like Niji and you won't enter if not already hugely succesful and friend with people inside. Phase and Idol are less famous so getting known is harder, the initial fanbase and growth will be less. All of those three have less experience and contacts in terms of 3d concerts and such but if you are not a singing artist getting into holo, does not seem worth cause you will be very restrained in eveything else you can do and in niji, nowadays, it does not make sense to try to enter unless extremely desperate.
@@webaazul2500VShojo membes have always been bigger than NijiEN and only the Luxiem boys could be compared in size to the likes of Mouse, Vei, Silver, Zen, Nyanners and Melody.
@@Earliersphere As an example Rosemi is now taking time off to sort out her mental. She also didn't stream for the two weeks after Selen's termination, she claimed it was because she was sick, but Petra also didn't stream either. I am pretty sure her stress levels are through the roof. Hopefully Matara is talking to her behind the scenes
"We can make up some rules, just to ease you in." It shines a grim light on her previous environment when her manager could decipher that the correct play here was, in fact, de-facto *exposure therapy*.
Its like dating a girl and shes saying "No, this is wrong, you are being too nice, what do you want?" Turns out, when you date someone who previous partners abused and cheated, they wont know how to take kindness. It took me 3 years to de-program her. Then she dumped and started dating another abuser... FML
@@Pherim_What's even the mental process behind that?? I can't imagine a good reason for dumping someone who's not just a passionate aide in life as well as a voluntary, FOC rehab center
Less so exposure therapy more like weaning them out of a bad environment, just like you can't give someone who's starving themselves a massive meal. Gotta wind them up to normal meals. Same shit with Michis rules
@@user-bd1hx6wg4j No, it's similar just not as bad and badly managed as EN. The most popular goldenchilds are treated well, the other dozens are practically given similar EN treatment/neglect.
Michi: Can I do this? Vshojo:Yes. Michi:And this? Vshojo:yup Michi:but what about- Vshojo:We don't care. Michi:But what if i- Vshojo: WE DON'T FREAKING CARE.
I don't really believe that they're that nonchalant, but more like they have the experience capability and resources to seamlessly and effortlessly deal with the aftermath of anything that the talents throw at them.
Its more like: "Well, our policy is not break TOS of the platform you stream on... and don't you ever, not in a millisecond, not even in a slightest thought that ran through your mind, don't you ever trust Zen."
I actually like the creativity of the staff to implement rules without consequences just to maintain a sense of structure. Not every transition gotta be a shock therapy session.
Just have to pray that the staff learned their lesson after what happened with both the Nux Taku drama and the insane amount of abuse Silvervale went through, they had basically no protection for their members.
@@xanthiusdrake2775 Frankly if Vshojo had real rules then the Nux Taku drama would have never blown out of proportion. Responding to Nux publicly and without waiting for a proper debrief was a huge part of the problem.
@@afelias It was just a shitshow that toxic people still bring up to this day. All parties were operating with fragments of info and a ton of incorrect assumptions, leading to escalations between parties that were really all on the same side.
@@uselessprotaganist7444 It was a drama that no one won. EVERYONE lost something from that drama, and it's why there isn't a public apology video, as such a video would imply that someone "Won" the drama. Even if everyone posted it at the same time, most would only see one of those videos and formulate their entire opinion on that video alone. It's why they settled everything behind closed doors and don't talk about it as there's nothing to gain from making it public, it would only just paint targets on everyone.
Michi like "hello i don't have any rules to break how can i rebel?" And Gunrun just is like "okay umm... Breathing is not allowed, now you're permanently rebelling have a good day"
Niji seems to have an idea of what vtubers are, and try to force them to fit into that mold. Vshojo recognizes that vtubers are creative people and want them to run with that.
@@TheCreepyLanternLets be Honest, Sakana is just looking at Vtubers and saying "You know what, i've never seen someone like you, you are wierd. Hired"
Today's Niji is similar to early days' Holo. The difference is that Holo saw that they were being shackled by that mindset, and are getting better every year
@@Pherim_So fking true He didn't choose them because they're sad, he chose them because they somehow barely passed the "mental rehab test" in his nearest asylum Some are more mentally reformed than others, but you'll always have moments of "Just why?" with most of them
@@Pherim_on the contrary, while it had vulnerabilities they were on the right track with that mindset. After the copyright scare they overcorrected and resulted in some very dumb moments like no outside collabs, no charities, banning Coco for 3 weeks, etc. They've slowly gotten much better overtime in both restriction and managerial support, but small stupid shit like no gloveless hands and no casual product namedrops continue to linger.
Niji: Pouring more fuel in their own burning house VShojo: Whelp, new wave of refugees inbound, see which artists we can tap, get the branding team on notice, spin up the hype machines. We should probably look at having a therapist on staff too at this point.
And in doing so, _VShojo_ makes very good money. Shocker! 😯 Seriously, the financial sector has become so brain-dead with the hyperfocus on maximum short-term gains that good business practices, with an emphasis on thinking well beyond the next 4 months, now seem like a novelty.
@@spk1121Some people like to step on other people’s heads on their way to upward social mobility. It’s not surprising that some companies are doing little to improve their corporate culture just because they’re obsessed over numbers.
legit sounds like when you adopt a abused dog, and you have to do things you wouldn't do ever just to make it feel more confortable. kurosanji really is a goddamn hellhole.
This is what I was thinking. It's been awhile since we've really gone all out and rescued multiple dogs in a year, but are most recent is another one, and she came from not a great place. Everything over having her has been trying to ease her into things, getting surprised at some normal things that terrify her, and basically just enjoying petting her and covering her up in a blanket because she rolls around like a pig and mud and it's quite obvious that being inside where it's warm, and having actual comfort, are new things to her. And of course, we will provide. Hearing about the shock going from one company to another, that's exactly what it reminded me of.
If I got a nickel each time I heard the same speech coming from a new Vshoujo members' early stream, I would have three nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice. And there is one thing they all had in common.
It's gotta be weird going from a company that's so restrictive about what you're "allowed to do" online while also being infinitely supportive of your projects and creativity, it's gotta be like going from prison to living as a millionaire
More akin to going from a slave plantation to being free, you went from earning money for people that hate you to earning money for yourself on your own time.
They still make a lot of money at Nijisanji rather often. I mean Doki made over 200k! She simply spent all of it on her projects. Of course that doesn't excuse anything. Especially the lack of support and sabotage are brutal.
@@ThePandafriendNijisanji is literally the most incompetent company ever created. Literally they are just trying to mistreat anyone who joins it. But guess what? Vshojo has a huge advantage and a lot more pros than cons compared to nijisanji. Hence why we have doki/Selen there and more ex nijisanji livers here as well. We welcome them with open arms. Nijisanji does not. Edit: I was meaning to correct myself here with doki. She is indie and she’s not apart of Vshojo. My fault guys.
@@darklord1366 No, they are not the most incompetent company. They are mistreating their employees, no doubt about that, and they show quite some incompetence, but at the end of the day they are still a highly profitable company. You don't get into such a position by being incompetent.
@@ThePandafriend Yeah except Doki made that 200k, NOT Nijisanji, if anything she earned money in spite of Nijisanji. We already know the talents have to do everything themselves including paying for new models, their gear, their intros, their outros, events they have planned, appearances at conventions, concerts, blah blah blah. The only thing Niji did is give them a brand name to work under and the base 2d character model/design.
tbh yeah, I dont really watch Vshojo's content that much, but I am happy for the talents there and especially the managers literally cares about their talent
I watch henya a lot. I just wanna make a point real quick. Henya is such a bright gentle soul. I actually love her a lot to the point to where I’d collab with her a lot. Just because of how nice she is.
I still feel like Hololive is slightly better in term of balancing strictness/freedom and providing support and opportunity for growth. Yes, definitely holo is stricter than vshoujo, but there's rhyme and reason behind the rules. Ugh... I still feel icky simping for a company, but that's what I genuinely feel. Also, people tends to mistake the craziness among niji livers as freedom while it was actually neglect and vague rules.
Compared to [unnamed other company] that seems to drag their feet, and use the due date as a guideline on when to start working on it, they must seem far
Suddenly this has become the religious study of chain of narration in order to ascertain the truthfulness of statements made by different people formerly working in the same agency. We could make a religion out of this.
@@FiredAndIced not sure about the religious bit, but the EN chain goes something like this : -Zaion is terminated for various reasons, several of which boil down to "resisting Niji tyranny". Sayu leaks just about everything people are now accepting as the truth, but back then most considered outright slander. Those who listened become more skeptical, but the overall public impression remains mostly the same. -Nina graduates. First NijiEN liver to even HAVE a graduation stream. -Mysta graduates. He was scheduled to graduate months earlier, even ahead of Nina, but personally chose to release his first original song beforehand. Redebuts as Kuro. Makes several comments regarding Niji work environment, on top of his previous thinly veiled complaints as Mysta. Those in the know feel vindicated, public opinion begins to sour. -Matara joins VShojo. Her astonishment at the difference in work environment is plain to see. Public opinion is rapidly approaching point of no return. -Mika graduates and goes quiet. She claims not to know what she'll do after retirement, but most people already speculate she'll move to VShojo, since they've basically earned their "Niji rehab facility" and "VTuber retirement home" labels after Kuro and Matara. -Sometime around Mika's graduation, the Selen megayab happens. Selen is forced into silence. Speculations abound due to NijiEN's tumultuous history regarding stealth suspensions. A few months later, she is officially and unceremoniously terminated. Everyone is outraged. Doki follows in Sayu's footsteps and releases her side of the story. Thanks to her excellent standing in the broader community and overall longer experience in NijiEN (debuted merely a month after Lazulight), as well as Niji's already low reputation by that point, the truth is now accepted as such. Sayu's story is recontextualized and far more readily accepted, now considered a warning that went unheeded. Niji continues to blunder, even remarking that the entire situation's consequences would be "negligible". Everyone with half a brain disengages from Niji entirely. Shares plummet. -Michi joins VShojo. [YOU ARE HERE] Omitted but just as relevant are Yugo (now Unnämed) and Pomu (now Mint)'s graduations; while important, the talents mostly chose not to comment on their previous situation much. Omitted and irrelevant is Kyo's graduation.
@@ToonLinkHoxquin took major potshots at niji in his vtuber debut, waking up from a coma saying that he had a dream that he was "like he was trapped in a prison for a year"
So doki,Michi,And matara has said how they were shocked with their new managers?? Alongside Quinn with his spicy ramen vid where he said that working in corpo means asking managers for permission for everything and not talking highly of it (which probs means its from personal experiences) yeah..... there's definitely something going on with the managers.
The fallout is very surreal. I really want to see actual change from the asshole agency of the day, because of how so morally corrupt it felt to be in there, as expressed by the graduated talents that have now become their own talents independent of an overarching corporate culture. I can only hope. People have subscribed to the rrat theories in 4chan so much that it’s basically a Palestine situation between the English speaking fans and them.
What I find as even more important here is that Michi came to management professionally and said "hey, what's the rules?" that type of relationship is so helpful to any real working professional relationship. Also, glad Vshojo is like "nah bro it's cool" XD
@@shifusensei6442 that is why I respect Vshojo. They actually know how to manage and share their knowledge to people who don’t work for them. To me that signals a fantastic manager when they are willing to teach and help others who aren’t on their “team”
I think her idea of having a teaser with irl people to throw every one off only really works in theory. That’s because VShojo only really drops trailers like that when new members are joining. So that’s just a dead giveaway there is a new member coming but I can 100% appreciate her out of the box idea tho. It was really cool to see.
Ah yes, the culture shock of leaving Kurosanji and suddenly being thrust into an environment where the people around you *do their fucking jobs* . Not the first time we're seeing it, hopefully not the last.
"These walls are funny. First you hate 'em, then you get used to 'em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That's institutionalized." The Shawshank Redemption
Yep. A real and genuine psychological effect. Spend long enough in any situation and your brain rewires it as "normal", and typically normal is seen as positive, I suspect due to familiarity being wired as "safe". "The devil that you know is better than the one you don't", as the saying goes. So past a point, even people in horrible situations will feel SOME degree of safety within the comforting blankets of being ruthlessly abused. And so when they leave it, some might want it back to varying degrees. But once a genuinely healthy environment becomes your new normal, you'll feel a level of comfort and safety that utterly eclipses the coping mechanism you relied on before. None of this is to say that this is what's necessarily happening to Michi. I have too little information to go on, and this seems to be different. But it can definitely happen to people in her position, even if it doesn't always.
I still could tell it was a tease for a new member, but Code Blue was hellafun. Also, what a surprise, another former Niji shocked to find out that other companies treat their talents with some basic human decency. Almost like that company is REALLY bad, no matter what the people Stan'ing for it say...
Anyone who's in the workforce, let alone corpo vtuber scene, knows that working in a really toxic work environment alters your brain in such a messed up way that doing "normal stuff", where you don't have to be micromanaged by someone or calculate every single word that comes out of your mouth to not upset anyone, feels incredibly abnormal and "wrong".
Former nijisanji vtubers truly experiencing the difference between a japanese company vs an american company. The culture shock is crazy. Its like you're in a whole different world. It is night and day.
It's kind of a smart business move. They make Nijisanji go through all the trouble and cost of doing the auditions, training the talents, and showing the bad apples. They then pick up the cream of the crop who are discontent, give them a sweet deal and make them happy to join. They are able to avoid the costliest part of building a brand-new talent from the ground up. And if you can survive the Nijisanji black grind (for a while atleast), then you are tough enough to be a veteran vtuber who can bring your fans with you.
Imagine being in an abusive relationship, personal or professional, and are genuinely surprised when the next relationship isn't abusive. You expect the worst and yet only get kindness. This all made me smile.
You know that philosophy about building a new ship from an old ship, but the question is, which is the original ship? I finally got an answer. It's the one that makes the crew happy
You are talking about the Ship of Thesseus problem and that is not what you described. The Ship of Thesseus is that as the ship gets older boards rot and need to be replaced, eventually the entire ship will have been remade with new pieces, at that point is it still the ship of Thesseus? If you build a ship from pieces of another ship the original is the ship you took pieces from to build the new ship. That being said your point about the ship making the crew happy is a good point.
"Dude that human just fed me full course meal, pretty sure am gonna get chopped tonight." "Nah we go park later, it is daily routine, you gonna get use to it." "Daily wat?!"
i love how vshojo is the supportive, welcoming home for the livers who had hard times in their old companies Thank you Gunrun, managers and all these people who helped these livers!
I'm similar in a way of "can I do this or that" and it took me a long time just to still *somewhat* be stuck in that mindset so I see where she's coming from, especially from a place like that. Glad to see she's doing better now.
This is why I always love the idea of Vshojo, that was form by already establish Vtubers, I hope it doesn't grow so big it becomes like another Corpo, but as we see with those that have left there is little drama compare to others and can keep their channel, so even when it doesn't work they end up with the better deal
Just keep in mind though that VShojo ultimately relies heavily on their talent's brand, which is kind of a blessing and a curse: see how much drama VShojo got caught in their early days, and only when certain members left did VShojo start their rehabilitation to becoming what it is now.
@@StrikeNoir105E Don't forget their leaving coincided with Henya debuting. That and Zen taking it upon herself to set up lots of collabs (apparently she organizes most of the company collabs) This allows the others to do their own stuff and then do a company collab. Zen's biggest problem is scheduling but that's mostly her ADHD getting in her way.
I’m sorry this is off topic but her model’s eyes and that shirt are beautiful. The patterns are very aesthetically pleasing and her eyes have concentric circles which I admire.
If I had a nickel for every time a new Vshojo member being flabbergasted by competent management, I'd have three nickels, which isn't a lot but it's infuriating that it happened thrice.
Well hopefully they learned their lesson from the drama with Nux and the Hogwarts Legacy disaster with Silvervale. They had basically no protection for their members at that point, and it really is sad because Silver is one of the original members, even before Vshojo was created, since her, Melody and Ironmouse had their own little group at one point until Vshojo was made.
@@Toastybees First of all do not misjudge a person on their intentions when they are stating facts. And there is no 100% proof, and there never will be, a company can never fully protect their members/workers, there will always be issues, all that can be done is to reduce the flames as much as possible.
@@shadmanbashar6067 My point is; do not just go all happy go lucky thinking "yay things should be better all is well they learned and it'll never happen again" and this is something even outside company stuff, nobody is ever 100% safe from life troubles, if you have had problems, whether it be from work, or personal, or if it is not even your own and if it is something you have learned from elsewhere, instead of just leaving it all behind, keep a tiny part of it as a lesson in life, and do your best that it doesn't happen again, or if it has not happened to you personally, then take it as a lesson from others, so that you do not suffer the samefate, or that the results are not as terible.
tbh a few of us figured the Code Blue stuff must be a new member teaser anyways lol. The only other options I can think of would be like, a concert announcement maybe?
I think that literally started with the Founding members. For example Melody has Epilepsy, so can't play games with flashing lights, Mouse has so many medical problems but they all come down to one thing. Haruka is autistic and Zen has severe ADHD. By the time Kson joined Gunrun had to know that the needs of his streamers came first ad foremost.
The more I hear about their experiences in Vshojo, the more I believe Vshojo to be a mythical company that allows its members to do fuck all and succeed.
i just saw her ads on Twitter, and that was surprising to me 😂 they didnt give any f with the Niji ID branch, it must be frustrating for the ID talents there..
There’s only one rule I want enforced on Michi: Don’t let her cook. She used a freaking hair straightener to make candy out of a malt drink powder, I so wished my brain cell didn’t eject that day.
Ninji: The guy that accuses her of cheating while he's cheating on her! V-SHOJO: The Rebound guy that loves her Will never take her for granted and will do anything for her!
"Are there any rules?" "Did you want there to be rules?" That's what happens when you are treated like an adult and they assume you have some vague idea of what your vision is.
I imagine it's like getting out of a dystopian society and stepping into the wild. There's so much out there but there's no guides and the very idea of not having anything like a map is incredibly terrifying. What if I make a mistake? What if something bad happens? And so on...
i mean aside from all the "drama" if you can call it that, nijisanji clearly operates on quantity over quality, they hire too many talents but not enough supporting staff to maximize revenue without spending too much money, on the other hand vshojo has a handful of talents and clearly enough support to handle the needs of the talents
And as a result, the people who thrive the most within the company are the ones that do the bare minimum. Just the occasional song, otherwise just karaoke zatsu and games. They dont do big projects, they dont show ambition, because everything special they want to do comes out of pocket and loses money. They literally force the talents to choose between doing something big to please, or even grow, their fanbase... or actually make money. A literal JOB shouldn't force that kind of ultimatum on someone.
@@anthonyervin95 i don't disagree with you, by quantity over quality i meant from a support aspect, the talent don't receive nearly enough attention, they're either severely understaffed or according to their recent hirings, severely underpaid amateurs
Kurosanji: treats talents like slaves Vshojo: just don't make us look bad and don't break some basic NDA and TOS rules and have fun and enjoy your time here as talent Michi: uhh how does that work? You mean I'm free to do things without asking permission s? No rules? No restrictions? Vshojo: nope, just don't get banned on twitch in general
I said it before, but the only thing that comes to mind is Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd... I love that she's allowed to do what she wants now, rather than being shackled with endless rules and horrible management...
The teasers they made were brilliant and so funny. I didn’t think there was going to be a new member. Just though Vshojo we’re trying something new and I was there for it 😭
I commented it before in another video. It feels like Niji managers are there to vet everything to protect their own company image; VSJ managers feel like actual talent agents that *assist* the talents. Very different things.
