Theirs was a year-long struggle. Most people can't be bothered to perform even the simplest civic responsibilities. Write to their elected representatives, advocate for social issues on a local level, attend protests, sign petitions, organize gatherings, etc. It's true that we need more people to stand... and that includes we ourselves. One town in all of America managed to do this very ordinary thing, and so many people are singing the praises of America, as if most Americans are this way. They aren't. Most Americans can't be bothered with civic responsibility, which is why politicians have made so much progress in corrupt behavior. This town is a shining example of what people in solidarity with each other, against gov't, can accomplish. I bet they weren't so divided along party lines that the were more interested in bickering and opposition, than they were in denying actions by elected rep's who just did their own thing.

when I was little in one of the small towns near me there were 2 glass factories and another one right across the state line, gone to china sold out for political pocket linings and they and corporates narcissistic ego massages. We didn't have those glass factories because of other countries owning us. Out out dang spots. Good jobs galore Everyone had a house, car and garage, bought lumber and steel from logging and steel maker Americans and administrative, who all needed shoes ... I wouldn't say that this factory has ill intentions. China would keep its factories in China. But they set up factories in the USA to avoid the excess import taxes which the US places on them to encourage local manufacturing. I think a system should be set up where foreign companies can only lease and not own the land.

Our Clinton Twp. gov tried to sell us out to big marijuana. They were going to allow almost a pot store on every corner of our community. Well, we went to court, twp meetings and were at the polls, beat them by 1,500 votes. The little guy can make a difference...

Arkansas is the 4th worst state for poverty, 5th worse in education, 5th worse in life expectancy. Sure, they should be selective in what projects get built, but they need to do a better job getting their economy and social services on track. Not to mention, Arkansas is where Walmart started, one of the biggest factors in America's fever for cheap Chinese products.

Maybe that's why Xi is meeting Biden tomorrow in California to prevent other states from following Arkansas.

But, on the other side of the coin, How many American companies are opening new factories? Which brings up another question: How is it that American companies can not afford to pay for American labor, but foreign companies seem to have no problem paying the American's wages?

The end result is that so many environmental regulations were put in place that no American Company can actually afford to operate on American Soil. Include all the politicking about Unions, Taxes, Reparations, Representation, and the currently existing companies legislating their competition out of business, nobody can actually afford to operate. Especially during an economic downturn where the Fed is increasing interest rates to pull money out of the economy to increase it's value. Meaning that local banks who loan out that money ALSO increase their interest rates which means no one is going to want to take out a loan to start up new projects right now. Foreign investors don't care and have money to burn. Especially the Chinese. Because of how out of date people are about the economy they think that China is just rolling in money and companines desperately want access to the 'Chinese Market' so they can slurp up all that money they think the 1.2 billion Chinese people have. Well now the Chinese are coming to the US and are willing to spend that mythical 'Chinese Money' to basically buy up those resources and people who are uneducated see it as a means to get their money and suck up to the commie sympathizers for the vote next election. "Hey, I got us more jobs AND I'm hip with Communism!" he says lining his pockets with Yuan turned USD thinking he got a triple win. Meanwhile the company doesn't give a shit about environmental regulations and gets a pass because it has the 'right methodology' and enough money to buy off the fines it'll get. We have literally regulated ourselves out of American Business between 'caring for others' and 'getting what we're owed' taken to the extremes. If we were to de-regulate and allow smaller business that make up 90% of American Business ACTUALLY OPERATE, we'd see american companies actually take back over.
