Awesomeness. Never seen so many Vmax's in a group. You rarely see 1st or 2nd gen Vmax here in central Texas. But I'm a proud owner of a 2002 vmax and my brother has the 2013 vmax. Love them! Hell of a machine!
@@only738 I'm in Austin. Don't have a VMax but I've always wanted one. I ride a Versys 1000 but have been thinking about getting a 1st or maybe 2nd gen as a 2nd bike, hopefully next year. I'd love to check yours out!
Seeing you on that yellow one sure makes me miss my '91. Traded it in on my Busa! I wish I had kept the Vmax too though...just a different breed of bike. Nothing like as fast as my Busa, but still a fun, torque ride! Stay safe....
better look again. Both bikes boast a 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and 10 second quarter mile times. Also, I have seen plenty of videos of the vmax beating busas and xr 14s in the quarter.
Hey Pikwhip, this is in the Irish Hills area. A little southeast of Jackson and southwest of Ann Arbor. I'm not from the area or very familiar with it so I just followed the leader.
I'm curious to know if you still have your original VMAX ? I bought a 1992 with 5,000 miles on it. Tore it down, polished all aluminum parts to look like chrome. Installed CR racing carbs w/ velocity stacks, bigger exhaust, etc. Painted it with chameleon paint.Changes colors. Still have it to this day. I'm wanting a new generation VMAX to set this one on the side for a bit,not to mention the more horsepower.
+John Jones Yamaha claim 197.4 hp at the crank for the current Max (so pretty close to 200 hp wouldn't you say?) which is equating to 174/175 horses at the rear wheel depending on which dyno is being used and ambient temperature on the day etc. Early Max's claimed 147, but often made around 115 at the wheel - which was more than enough, given they handled like a plate of vomit.
The combined handling characteristics of 15 three wheeled shopping carts full of bowling balls going down a flight of stairs. Notice how S L O W they take corners.
I've seen 3 other vmax's in my area.... Being a rare sight in Western Oregon I get strange questions like "is it true it will lift the front end at 200mph and my favorite question is ;how much boost is the supercharger pushing? I used to correct them that the vmax is fairly tame but I gave up.
Where you guys based out of? Is it an official club? Im a Vmax lover myself. Owned a couple. Presently a 2009. Lookin for some other crazies to ride with...
if you don't mind me asking what part of Michigan is that I have lived in Michigan my whole life my wife and I are from battle creek we live in Kalamazoo Michigan
That is Irish Hills area in Michigan, it is around by Wamplers lake. If you look up Michigan International Speedway that is the area they were in. Nice roads out there to ride on. Wish there was more curves though. I am a Michigander myself.
4 gallons. I have a 2005 with 21000 miles. And I ride alone. I never understood the attraction to ride in a group. Too many compromises and stupid moves, I think. Lots of posing. To each his own. Dave, not Eileen Heitman. Semper Fidelis
night rider ,you're not alone. I get the same thing. I have a 92. nothing like a willy at 110. I have a hard time keeping the front wheel on the ground. 50 years old & still getting it,lol.
the guy with the silver max must go through a rear tire every week with all his burnouts.. i would have been mad when he was doing a burnout 2 feet in front of you, flinging rubber all over ya
Looks kinda douchey with mullet man, burnout guy, and trying to wheelie dude. Is the whole group as unskilled behind the handlebars as the ones you were following? They're all over the place and totally unpredictable.
Let's ride in to a federal/state/county park driving recklessly. Real classy. It's the very few places my kids can go and have some form of protection from trashy ass people, and then you guys roll in. Never understood the entitlement that motorcyclists can't seem to shake. Do we owe you guys something? Are you mad at the general public because you have to share the road???
@@x21blaze21xWhen and if they are in the street, they are pedestrians. And they have every reason/right to be there. Just like a motorcycle does. My point is that operating any vehicle like that inside of a park is wrong. God forbid you lose control of the said bike and it goes slinging off towards the playground and hurts or kills my child. Then you will beg for the police, because I will be the judge and jury in real-time.
