@@cato3277 doom 2016 was a reimagining of what they wanted the very first doom to be like: darker, scarier, and quieter at times. Doom 2016 felt like what doom 3 should've been. With eternal they wanted it to be more like Doom 2: more open environments, more fast paced, and more colorful.

This game was more nostalgiic as compared to eternal, besides this aspect, eternal is surely a step up from the first game, and it's more arcade style this time

Doom eternal was supposed to be way more arcade-ish and more like the original doom games.

I sort of feel sorry for her in a way...Not only is the thing she's seen wearing a literal part of her (titanium exoskeleton grafted directly to her skin and spine causing intense pain to her with every little movement she makes) but she truly thought that the deal would make her a god, only to realize just before she was turned into the spider mastermind that she was fooled.

If you notice the spider masterminds face compared to the Kahn Maykrs true face, they’re almost identical. I think you’re onto something about Olivia being a vessel. It could be possible the Kahn Maykr had possessed her to carry out the plan on Mars.

@@jwilson2793 I think it's more due to the fact that the Maykrs were corrupted by argent energy and resemble demons because of it

The super cool part is - for that brief moment, this is the only moment she sounds like herself. For the rest of the time - she is possessed by hell. Like Samuel Hayden, that seems not that corrupt... at a time. Hell, the dude seems even badass - if stealing energy from hell isn't badass enough, I don't know what is ;) There is the wall at UAC facility (when you meet Hayden) with their pictures. I bet they are all Id Software employees ;) But jokes aside, the UAC people were once human, all of them. No evil scientists. But as they discovered the artifacts, they become corrupt. Devoured by THEM. Our absolute favorite enemy :)

The man does good work and actually cares about source material. His work on Killer Instinct seasons 1 and 2 was evidence enough of this for me. The guys who replaced him for season 3 just aren't as good.

I played the whole eternal and unfortunately it doesn't have any similar parts. Not even when the doomslayer's true identity is revealed.

It almost sounds like something you would hear in Blade Runner 2049 or Dune. Fucking amazing.

@@cato3277 Atmosphere is presented way better in Doom 2016. Eternal for me had a lackluster presentation to his predecessor, a lacking theme, with a really good but forgettable ost, the DLCs really improved the ost, the atmosphere really way better than the base game, 2016 was just a perfect in presentation, it was a good mix between grounded seriousness, and pure Doom. Eternal lacks that grounded seriousness that sell really well 2016, but they’re both really Awesome FPS, I hope in the new Doom 3 they Combine both games For the atmosphere and ost.
