Ah. You two are just amazing! Isn’t it humbling as you said and incredible we modern humans have to “relearn”… things our ancestors knew, and things people just 60 years ago maybe did themselves. But then your modern knowledge of the internet and putting all you learn to use: so exciting and satisfying! 🎉❤ Thank you for sharing a bit more of your herbal cooking. That was interesting. Sending you love, strength, curiosity and joy!!

You guys do so much and are so diligent. I would love to see the market where you get the radicchio. Everything you show is interesting. I would love to go on a journey like yours to get my own house and do things myself. That must be so fulfilling. Best wishes for the two of you. And don`t worry about looking puffy sometimes. ;)

oH MY GOD, i HAVE NEVER BEEN SO NERVOUS WATCHING YOU PULL THESE PLANTS OUT OF THE GROUND!!!! I was picturing all kinds of things going wrong and Mieke, you are amazing. I'm so curious about winches. why don't the plants break off in the trunk as you are pulling? is the ground soft or wet so they came out like that? It's amazing to me.

I love to see your progress. Thank you for sharing. I wish we lived closer. I would send my husband to help you two. He built our house, did everything by himself….electrical, plumbing, and all the interior work. It took a long time!! But worth it. You two are amazing. Good luck.

Apologies, spelling Micke's name incorrectly. Measure your roof dimensions to see how much rain you can collect from it. e.g. roof dimensions 11x7m=77. For every ml per square metre, you get 77L of water. I strongly suggest investing in 3 x 22,000L poly tanks. Then you can have the well as a back-up to water the garden. We are not on mains and have never run out with our tanks. We have a bore for the garden. Can your stove for cooking be connected to heat hot water? A friend pulled out my roses with a winch attached to the 4x4 but also the irrigation system which I didnt want.

That's such a great advice! We'll look into those poly tanks. Right now, our current stove cannot be connected to heat the water but maybe we'll get one that can at some point.💙🙏🏼

Berry brambles are the bane of my existence! They are growing in a spot that has things under them that can't be disturbed, so I can't use the machines. If I could, I absolutely would. They just keep coming back. Argh!!

Apparently the vegetable is referred to as radicchio in English too :) I've never seen it here in Hungary or in Poland where I used to live. Very inspiring video as always, good luck with the electricity 🤞🏻

Hello:) Amazing vlog, Mike are real youtuber:)) So happy for you, soon you will enjoy a garden:) i Also in Latvia, we call that vegetable "red cabbage", a very popular vegetable in my country, in general we eat a lot of different vegetables and herbs. I think I eat everything from vegetables, I like absolutely everything. There is one thing that I don't really like, and what Latvians often long for when they are abroad (I certainly wouldn't, because I don't use this product at all) is buckwheat. brrrrrrr
