I don't know if I'll ever get to do a build like this, but this gave me enough reference information to figure out how to make the cabin extend out and over the wheels. Ideally making it so that you could have an East-West full size resting on top of the height of the wheel well. And then having some utility space underneath the mattress.

That would be awesome! I opted not to extend over wheels to keep it simple. I also wanted to be able to see around the trailer in my side mirrors easily.

Some companies use Black = Hot, White = Neutral, like house wiring. That's why the wiring is like that on your lights. @7:33

This is a great video mate! Loving it even though I am a little late to the party. But as an auto elec I get forest whittaker eye when i see earths screwed to the body. You would have been better bolting that to a common earth stud within your box or with a bolt on the chassis rail. Screws come loose and its always that jiggling earth terminal giving people issues in these circumstances. Just a bit of food for thought!

I think that depends on the tow vehicle! I think having matching wheels and tires on the camper is a great idea just for the fact that your spare tire can work for the trailer, or your truck!

The one thing I have found with the liners (i.e. Raptor, Line X, rhino.. etc) when used in areas where they can get scratched, the rust will eat under them. You’ll soon be able to peel that liner off like an onion skin. I only use liners now in areas where I can look after them and fill them immediately after they are blemished.

Cracking videos on trailers, you've got me inspired to make my own trailers now. One for camping and one for biking. When is the next part of this build out? need to see the wiring finished off. If you can go a little slower or more indepth on that, that would be great. Not full auto electrician indepth haha.

Curious to know the distance between the outside of frame to the wheel mounting surface? I'm rebuilding a tow low camper and I'd like to put these axles on but can't find the measurements for if they'll fit

How confident are you in the 3/4” inch steel as the frame vs 1” steel? Do you think the difference would be night and day in terms of structural strength?

Very confident! I had been all over the roof before it ever had a roof rack to ensure my panels were adhering correctly. Didn’t even seem flex at all with me up there

4:38 You say you like 1/16 toe in. Seems a bit vague. Mustn’t you also specify the distance from the axle? Surely using a longer straight edge and measuring far from the axle is not the same as using a short straight edge

Not really, you’re measuring for the wheel. It’s going to be a 1/16th inch less in the front than the back. Look up tire alignment videos, and you’ll see that everyone uses a short piece of metal, or level.

I tell you a secret that I did. You know those little plugs that you put on the front of the trailer or the full wave plugs, you can get those, and at every light put one at every light that way. If you had to replace the light, you just pulled the plug, take the light out, rewired onto the plug. Put the plug back in and you got it made. I do that because. Somebody's always hitting it or something. Somewhere. Down-the-line and breaking a lot. So this way, nobody hits it. And you're up on Poles too. That way on my boat, they're not. They're not able to hear them.

@@Adv4x4 I wish I was aware of these nuts when I built my trailer. I ended up getting metric studs and banging them in place of the 1/2 inch ones that came from Dexter. Now I can use OEM toyota nuts

I got lucky and had a internet friend who pointed me in the right direction! I was going to install new studs as well originally
