Dr. Dray from the bottom of my heart thank you so much for being YOU! Before I discovered your videos I was using fragrance-laden products and never wearing sunscreen. Thanks to you I started using a retinol which has dramatically cleared my skin and you helped me realize that fragrance was a big part of the irritation on my face and body. I can’t afford the luxury of a dermatologist but your willingness to be open and honest about skincare has made me feel like I can still look good and feel good on a tight budget. And now I never leave the house without my sunscreen! ❤️❤️

I had CO2 laser two years ago, twice and now I have small pores that look like scars. My skin looked refreshed for a few months but as time goes by I notice I have more of these white spots, kinda like filled pores, small scars. I had CO2 to reduce acne scars from the teen years but they never seem to go away completely. Years ago I tried micro needling & used Retinal A as prescribed . I still have very oily skin in my senior years and to my disappointment pits still on my face. Wish I could find something that actually lasted.

Hello, Dr Dray! Thank you for your videos and wisdom, as always. I wanted to share a sunscreen-related story I think you would appreciate from the other day. I am naturally very pale, and live in a very hot and sunny climate. Despite being more prone to getting sunburns, I rarely burn due to sunscreen and other skin protection measures. A women in her wise years remarked that I couldn't possibly be from the area due to my skin. I replied, "Actually, I wear sunscreen every day." She lamented how she wished there was more information about skincare and sunscreen when she was younger to avoid skin damage later in life. So, thank you, Dr Dray on educating us on how to take care of our skin!

Can you make a video comparing different sunscreen filters and which are the best for protecting against UVA wavelengths? I know not all sunscreens are created equal and I would love to hear which ones work best for anti-aging as thats my main concern. Ive heard that chemical sunscreens are more protective against UVA than mineral ones.

She's covered this a bit in her older videos indirectly - but essentially opt for European (Boots, No7, sundance) or a East-Asian sunscreen ideally as they use newer chemical filters that are more effective against multiple wave-lengths and less irritating - while both generally use chemical+physical rather than just one style and type - usually comprising of 3-5 filter types with a one or two being physical and the rest being chemical. Ideally opt for 50spf for these, although 30spf is 'suitable' for low-exposure use.

This is interesting! I do find it funny that so many dermatologists freak out about exfoliation and the risk of causing micro-tears in your skin, yet there's also this process where you intentionally poke thousands of holes in your skin. 😅

Bcuz tearing the skin is way different than creating controlled holes
@brittanystorey9460
@brittanystorey9460 2 года назад
This type is controlled holes/depth, and they are spaced evenly, this allows scar tissue/ healthing to be uniform reducing the risk of creating more skin texture, unlike tearing the skin with scrubs which is likely to create long inconsistent surface tears, and tugs, Making for likely a less uniform and more bumpy healing over time. The difference between smearing something around vs dabbing something down.( smearing is going to be inconsistent, but dabbing is going to be more uniform (of course if the pressure that is applied is the same)
@Marie-ct4td
@Marie-ct4td 2 года назад
@@brittanystorey9460 thank you for the answer that makes the most sense! I'll buy that this is better for making skin heal evenly. Heck, I might even try it. I'm probably never going to stop laughing about the suggestions that exfoliating is going to kill you though (not sure if Dr. Dray has said that - I've seen other dermatologists say it is a risk due to infection through micro tears - gimme a break).

I had a face & neck lift 5yo & never got the under chin result desired, but due to some anatomical reasons, now I know that some will never achieve that chiselled neck look. I have finally accepted that conclusion. 😂. So 5yrs after my FL I had 4 treatments of RFM done (4.5 mos.ago now) to face & neck hoping to restore a little facial volume (my facial fat transfer 3ya was a fail) & hoping to reduce (just somewhat!) the skin laxity still under my chin. The RFM definitely improved my facial skin (but so has my Omnilux face & neck masks), but it did not improve skin laxity. This new Microneedling core procedure most likely will only give very subtle results so I think only surgery will significantly improve any decent amount of laxity. (Also tried SkinTite….failure too!)
@LK-lz6lk
@LK-lz6lk Год назад
Sounds like if hoping for "just somewhat" said in the beginning, it'd prob would work well. But, if actually hoping for "significantly", said at the end, you're prob right. The results would prob not be enough & feel like another fail.

That pillow that trains you to sleep on your back, looks too high.....Looks like it would encourage the 'back hump' that older people have! I actually made one from the 3" foam pads for mattresses (I used the extra we cut off of a king size cut down to a queen size) ....I removed some layers to make a spot for the back of my head and left the taller layers on each side to gently hold my head.....It works great and I don't wake up with a headache every morning now and my 'starter back hump' has gotten better!

Dr. Dray, love all your content, and thanks for including the risks for people with darker skin tones. You mentioned here that this procedure is less risky as far as hyperpigmentation is concerned, and I have two questions. When hyperpigmentation does occur, does it eventually fade away, or can be hastened by retin-A? Also, to me, more scary is hypopigmentation. Is that a risk with micro-coring? Thank you!

Thank you Dr Dray. I value your opinion. I just had my first of 3 Morpheus8 treatments 13 days ago. I’m 63 and in pretty good shape for my age and degree of sun exposure I’ve had throughout my life. I had the Pearl Fractional treatment laser treatments (3) in my mid to late 40’s which was a game changer for my skin, nasal labial folds, smile limes, tightening my jawline and sun damage / expression lines around the eyes. I think it was similar to the treatment you described in this video. I was 100% pleased with the results which lasted a LONG time and I’m still better off now by having had it. I’ll see how I like the results from the Morpheus8 and decide if I want to try the micro-coring technology you have described. I kinda wished I’d tried that instead!

I think it's very little skin removed. Too conservative. "Up to 8%" is not a lot. They're looking for FDA approval, so they make it weak so no one gets hurt. Meanwhile it's 3k and you probably don't get a whole lot of improvement. I'm thinking if you find a place to give you like a package of 3-5 treatments for a discounted price that could be worth it.

I'm going to have to try that back sleep training pillow, I have the chest creases!!! No point in trying to improve the look of them unless I can sleep on my back!
@nadab4750

I wear a bra to bed. It is not uncomfortable if it is the right size and fit. I am used to it anyway. I always wear a "spacer" bra, which doesn't flatten or smoosh the breasts together. I sleep on my back, using a small convex triangle "knee" pillow behind my neck & head (meant for side sleepers). I use a pure silk pillowcase too. If you do wear a bra to bed and sleep on your side, you can just tuck something like a foam hair roller/cotton sockette etc. in the cleavage (to stop the upper breast dragging over to sit on the breast closest to the mattress). The other omportant thing is sunscreen on the chest everyday! UV rays can go through your regular day clothes and cause wrinkles, crepeyness and collagen depletion and sagginess on the neck, chest and breast area. I did buy a Sleep & Glow pillow for my sister when she was recovering from dental work. She loves it. 👱‍♀️❤

Because this technically removes skin could it potentially help with acne scars like icepick type scars?

This sounds interesting! I'm 64, but I've only really had marionette lines show up in the last couple of years. Am I too old for this procedure?

I did it. Effect is really good. Face "shrink" immediately. Pigmentation from acne improves. But I do not know if it makes any long term damage?

@@jm7174 1000 euro per procedure (face+neck) in Spain if I recall it correctly. Or maybe it was 700 and then 300 for IPR with growth factor to apply directly after MNRF But it did was expensive

Why just lower face.... why not places like chest or stomach? Mainly stomach coz there are no veins or nerve endings like the jawline. I think it's an ignored space. I know that cold sculpt thing is there but body should be easier to get FDA clearance for than face

Like using biscuit cutter to make biscuits, sometimes a biscuit may be stubborn to release from the dough or cutter, will there be “like” concerns between needles and skin? A concern when cut piece is left on site unreleased?

Dr Dray: Thanks for your amazing content. Can you please post a video about PIH and is it pretty common in Indian skin tones? I wear sunscreen religiously and hardly go in the sun. However, lately the skin on my face is becoming darker and I am not sure if it’s because of usage of retinol, aha or at home high frequency treatment. Thank you!

I recently saw a rather horrifying TikTok advertising something called a phenol peel. It looked like it turned the person's face into a big scab that would flake off in big pieces. But damn, the skin it revealed looked incredible in the before and afters! It looks painful and like it could be dangerous, but with very good results after just one treatment. It seems to be pretty new (at least, its very new to me), and I was wondering what your opinion of it is.

I would love any more information on this! Any idea where/when/if it is available in London? I can't find anything online, but would love to look into this for having the mid face treated. I also wonder if this would work well under the eyes. It seems like it could be perfect for that.

A person with paper thin skin could not do this. I can literally see a large vein in my face through my aging skin. Its so visible its hard to cover up with makeup. What do you recommend for people with thin skin? Thanks for all of your hard work.
