This is a brief review and setup guide for the Micro DNC system as used on M-series Mazak/Mazatrol Controls.
As a DEVOTED Mazak user for the past 20 of my 26 years in business, anything that I find beneficial to Mazak users, I try to share. As much as we rely on the power of the Mazatrol programming system, there will be times that we may be forced to use EIA code to tackle a given task. High speed roughing strategies as well as surface milling come to mind when we are forced to step outside of the Mazatrol platform.
Regardless of the CAM system used to generate the EIA code in question, the hard part is often simply getting the program into the control; and if it will not fit within the controls memory, running the program via DNC. After having purchased and tried various USB/DNC devices, to no avail, I stumbled upon the Micro DNC system of USB/DNC.
This particular unit, out of four others tested, ended up being the ONLY ONE that I found to work on the later PC based controls but ALSO on the older M-series controls! With all of the M-series controls still out there today; this becomes a very important point. This unit has performed flawlessly on all M2/T2, M32/T32, and M-Plus/T-Plus controllers. It downloads, uploads, and drip feeds (DNC) EIA programs effectively and easily with the proper device settings within the Micro DNC and the correct parameter settings within the CNC controller.
This video contains all of the Micro DNC settings as well as all of the Mazatrol parameter settings required for fast, simple, transfer of EIA code to your Mazak control. Please accept my humble apology for the sloppy video. This was my first attempt at a video of this sort and getting this information out to other Mazak users being more important than my embarrassment of my on screen appearance and accent.
Anyone needing further assistance or questions regarding the usage of the Micro DNC on their Mazak's can feel free to comment below or contact me directly at mykal1970@icloud.com anytime. Shoot me a contact phone number and I'll be happy to talk with you over the phone to get you up and running EIA code on your Mazak with the Micro DNC.
Kind regards,
Mike Ward.
