The micro 4/3rds system is like any other - if you are careful with composition and exposure then it is a very capable camera system. I more recent models the software and sensor have improved the detail that can be retained in the shadows - but be careful in the highlights. Small sensors and as a by-product small pixels have an impact - one that can be managed, but something to de aware of.

Finally, someone is showcasing the use of a gradient filter! Too many photographers rely solely on the power of the RAW format. I'd argue that we can't truly view a RAW file in its pure form. While we can technically see it (Darktable - demosaic - method - photosite color, disable every other modules such as base curve, filmic curve, white balance, exposure, highlight reconstruction, color correction etc then zoom in), that's not proper viewing, it would just be a greenish mess of red, green, and blue pixels with linear brightness. What you're actually showing is likely a "neutrally" processed RAW file however I'm not sure. Back in the film days, each film stock offered unique color and lightness renditions, which added character and charm. On the other hand, that neutralized "digital" look lacks that appeal and, in my opinion, shouldn't be presented as is, as it holds no real value. No one would be buying such boring film stock. When you do local edits, it's like "printing" your image. I like to divide editing virtually into two stages. First, there's the "development" stage, where you can adjust white balance, color calibration, look-up tables, and curves (some of these adjustments can even be made in-camera using picture profiles if you shoot JPEG). The second stage is what we typically call editing to create the "finished" image, which includes local adjustments like shadows/highlights, texture/clarity/sharpness, masks, and retouches. This process aligns well with the analog approach: first you apply general corrections to get your scanned "negative," and then you can make different "prints" of various enlargements, rotations and cropped differently with added sharpness and local edits. Of course in digital world you can develop multiple versions from a single RAW file of course. So it would be interesting to compare "developed" and then edited images, not neutral RAW look and also would be interesting to see how your camera performs if you fiddle with camera settings in JPEG mode.

People who watch your content full screen or on the TV app may not see the Join button (I only seen the Join button today and signed up). EM1 MkII is a greta camera nearly bought it so many times but happy enough with my Lumix G9. Agree on DR, the same people that bleat on about DR then change their minds when companies like Sony/Nikon have reduced DR at high ISOs on their new cameras as a result of making their sensors stacked/more optimised for video, some people just say and do what they're told without thinking I guess. And rather neatly that's a great reason to support channels like yours, so we ca continue to get no nonsense opinion.

Live composite is a superb feature on Oly camera,s. I have the same mk2, what makes your L bracket Chris, can,t seem to find one.

Which microphone do you use Chris? Ive recently started doing interviews with a local football team and i realy need to update my audio quality
