Awesome! Welcome to the line. These should be showing up in Target this Spring. Although Walmart is pretty unpredictable in how they put products out there.
Awesome video Kevin! When did these come out? I definitely need to get this set! Glad they come with stands! I think all the micro galaxy squadron ships should have a stand with it.
Totally agree on the fact that we need stands. I have a few that I have custom designed and 3D print. I got this in a trade from a guy that picked them up when in New Zealand. They will be coming to the states as a Walmart exclusive. Supposed to be out this spring.
@@kmtanner04 Man, I so agree on the stands. I would be all in on this line if each ship came with a stand. Do you have any recs for anyone selling custom stands for this line?
@@mrjones5025 I have two stands I have custom made. Both are resin 3D prints. If you are on Facebook look me up and I can send you some pictures of what I have made. I am also on Instagram.
The reason why there were hooks and pegs that allow you to extend the length of the pod racers is because we were not allowed to exceed six inches in length on any ships. This was due to Lucasfilm’s agreement with Kenner/Hasbro. With Disney, anything goes now. We were held tightly to this. It is also the reason the finials extended on the Action Fleet Royal Starship. That said, we did push the boundaries every now and then. Example: the Action Fleet Federation Landing Ship was VERY wide, BUT it was under six inches in length. The didn’t say anything about width. We would have LOVED to have made these things more to scale like Jazzwares is. They are doing an AMAZING job. If they ever get around to playsets at this scale, they need to hit me up. I have a ton of Action Fleet playset designs that were never used (Cloud City, Death Star, Jabba’s Place, Cantina, etc…) Great review and comparison to our ships!
Thank you for the comment! I remember David Shaw talking about that with the clips. Very smart idea! I really enjoy all the extra features that the Action Fleet vehicles have. It was fun figuring them out when I got them. Also, fascinating to hear that there was a length restriction. Love the idea of cheating it. Wow you have designs for more Action Fleet playsets. Do you have the pictures of them? I would love to be able to see them and show them off to the community!
Yep. Dave was the guy that got me started down this crazy path. We were both students at SJSU and worked our tails off gearing up to Episode 1. Perhaps the most stress inducing time of my life, but I actually look back fondly on those days and VERY long nights. Thanks for the kind words@@kmtanner04
It was hinted at very early on by the brand manager that it would make a great two pack. Hopefully we will get one in the future . Likely would be a Walmart exclusive if it did come but it would be awesome either way.
Crazy that these have not been released in the States, had to get mine from ebay out of Mexico. Even then there aren't many available through 3rd party sites.
Totally agree. Apparently, they need to move some of the troop transports. Unfortunately, those are just sitting on the shelves. They should have been clearanced about a year ago.
I bought this online through Walmart a few days ago, I was really excited and when it arrived, the sebulba figure came with no head...did this happen to anyone else??
I'm kinda disappointed with these. ☹Engines are too small, or maybe the pods are too big, and the cables are too short and stocky. I like the idea of the ball joints, but they're too bulky and don't look great. I know they're toys, but I love this line because they're more like scaled movie accurate models with play features. These are the first in the MGS line to miss the mark for me.
I do like the set. It’s kind of hard to compare. There are positives and negatives for both. The ball joint honestly make this toy for me though. With Anakins pod they are SO cool! You can really move it around a lot. The size of subulba next to Anakin looks great. Next to the Marauder not so much haha. It’s almost the same size as the Marauder and LAAT but I am super excited we are getting some pod racers!
Picked this set up earlier and I, in my infinite wisdom evidently, while trying to get them out of the packaging got a bit too carried away and ended up snapping one of the connector pieces for Sebulba's pod where it meets the engine. So, that's fun.
