Great presentation. I liked it, but I have a couple of questions. First D2 as part of the half wave rectifier at 17:26 into the presentation. I think that was an over site as I believe it creates a short circuit every half cycle. My other question is the statement I played back 3 times to make sure I got it right. You indicate MOSFET's are used over BJT's given the high switching speed. Do I have this wrong? It's my understanding MOSFET's are slow given the gate capacitance and association with RC time constant to charge and discharge that capacitance. Where they excel is in current carrying capacity over BJT's given their low Rds when on. Yes, again as I always do, I'm going to go back and review to make sure my understanding is accurate. How to design a LLC for variable output voltage keeping the fixed input and the keeping the components same?For example Vin =350 but Vout = 50V to 300Volts.
The design seems too big to warrant resonant topology for only 200watt. I would think simply hard switching could do better. Resonant design should not have large lyt caps like that. Also it seems to be that the sensing on when to switch is the most interesting aspect of a resonant circuit design and that doesn't seem to be covered here at all. Is it blind switching?
