Minoxidil is for stimulating new or existing hair growth. Minoxidil does not combat the underlying issue that causes Male Pattern Baldness which is DHT. DHT is a hormone that on the scalp causes hair loss but in other areas of the body it actually causes hair growth (beard growth on chin for example). Finasteride is a medication responsible for inhibiting DHT which helps halt current hair loss and in some cases can help regrow already lost hair. It’s best to pair Finasteride and Minoxidil for optimal results because they one stops hair loss and the other stimulates new hair growth. Beware if you are inclined to use these products both have a chance to cause side effects and both are known to cause a substantial hair shed when you begin using them. Be sure to do your own research!
@@bulgariabeast3870 It might. There's a study that showed derma roller use maintained minoxidil results after stopping minoxidil. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9LQLkgjWoqs.html
Finasteride sucks azz. Caused my hairline to recede alot faster. Quit that after 1 year and started minoxidi wit tretinoin. Minoxidil growing back my hairline again 💪
The recommended size is 0.5 so as not to damage the skin. Also, don't cause scars. It also is recommended by Doctor dermatologists to do it once a week. Find the physician's evaluation and proper recommendations before starting this.
It does not sting that bad I have used both those items for almost three months the way I use it derma roller twice and minoxidil then next day no derma roller just minoxidil and so far u can see the difference I hope it continues to work more.
After my hair transplant i was taking minoxidil..when i stopped taking minoxidil..my transplanted hairs and few of my existing hairs hv fallen out.. its been 2 years since am off medication...if i take minoxidil and start finastride will my hair grow again?
Instead of minoxidil, try rosemary spray or oil. (Would be best to make your own/ youtube has great DIY videos). Rosemary has actually shown the same effectiveness and results in clinical studies as minoxidil. You can start derma-rolling( Look up how to properly derma-roll and get a 1.5mm real needle roller). As the video states, add the rosemary 24 hours after rolling. It will take at least 3 months to see a difference, so stay patient my friend. Also, get your annual labs done to check for any nutrient deficiencies/ hormone irregularities. ( T3/T4, B12,D, Feratin, Test/ hormone panel) are just a few of many things to check. Lastly, talk to your doctor about spironolactone. If you are a good candidate, this BP medication can actually assist with hair growth/ acne.
@@ashwinsharma222 It enhances hair growth but does not do anything about the underlying cause of the hair loss, which in the case of male pattern hairloss is the hormone DHT. That's why one should also be on a DHT blocker like finasteride.
@@152iq9 Yes, for as long as you want to keep your hair. I'd recommend you go watch some videos of Gary Linkov - he's a doctor who treats hair loss and knows way more about these things than I do.
Topical finasteride is pointless. It goes systemic so easily, which is why pregnant women shouldn’t even touch the pills. Minoxidil, however, should be used topically in order to avoid dangerous cardiovascular effects.
@@justinfitzpatrick013But does topic fin have the same or atleast nearly the same effect as oral fin? Because there is atleast some anecdotal evidence that people have better experience with topical.
Slowly reduce dose and frequency over the course of ~6 months until you’re talking only half a millilitre 3 times a week, then reduce to nothing. Your body needs to slowly come off it to prevent a major shed. Best of luck

It does, its just not the magic you want it to be. I started noticing results after a short time, but most people need to use it for months before anything happens
@@Vakator-29 doesnt matter. The hair you save with dht blockers will be safe, but the hair you grow with minoxidil will be reliant on minoxidil, weather you take blockers or not. Or at least thats how my specialist told me.
