A cable housing stop on the front derailleur? That would be a great front derailleur for many vintage bikes. Many vintage bikes and their front derailleurs were like that.

Can the broze on version be used with a generic band clamp? Or do I specifically need to buy the band clamp version as my frame is not braze on compatible?

Sorry for the late reply! Yes, our braze on derailleur is compatible with general braze on adapters.

One more question. I've got an old hardtail that I've been thinking of turning into a gravel bike. It is set up for a top pull front DR. Can Sword deal with this frame setup? Thanks.

Sword is bottom pull only. If you've got top pull, you'll need to install a pulley below the front derailleur.

I've got a really nice retro steel frame that I would like to put this on. It has bare cables (currently friction shift) that go around the exterior of the bottom bracket. Will this FD work with this frame (i.e., without cable housing on the FD cable)? Thanks.

Yes, it will work fine. You will lose the ability to adjust front derailleur cable tension if you don't run full housing, but that's it!

@@microSHIFTTECH thanks. So run an inline barrel adjuster between the shifter and the cable stops on the down tube where the friction shifters are now and the bare cable back from there. Is that right? Thanks.
