There should be at least two more episodes: move without the ball and shooting form. His shooting form, IMHO, was the reason he can make the turn-around-shooting and all sorts of shooting after he rebalanced or got to another shooting position with only using pivot foot. Thank you for your hard work. I studied MJ's moves frame by frame basically like this for almost a year. And there was a point I realized, technically, MJ's moves can be further broken into modular sub-modules. Just like different forms of Lego bricks. I think we call them fundamentals. Based on those, MJ can combine the necessary parts together and find how to transform from one to another. They are just beautiful techniques. And based on what I learned, I started to discover the top players of the next one or two gens of player really tried very hard to learn from MJ, such as T-Mac and Nash.

And the crazy thing all scouts and the talk was that before He entered the draft, they all said he didn't have that good of a jump shot. They said if he developed a jump shot that he'd be a pretty good player. He far surpassed that because of his love, dedication, and desire to be the Best ..
@mariosuarez3411
@mariosuarez3411 2 года назад
Right on! MJ's shooting form, while also beautiful, was definitely a big factor in him being so versatile with his mid range jumper and fadeaways. In addition, you need great elevation to pull it off, which requires superb conditioning. This is crazy considering how many minutes MJ played, while also being one of the best defenders at his position, if not the best. Jordan's style was very demanding physically, and he managed to pull it off game after game.

good analysis. but one thing missing about the jab step/juke fake. you mentioned that he threw his whole body weight into the jab to create huge defensive reaction from his defenders, it is because that's exactly how he drove pass his defenders with his first step. there isn't a single player since jordan retired that requires that much of instant respect and alert from his defenders simply because no one can drive pass the on ball defender as efficient and as quickly as jordan could. you don't bite for harden's first few moves because you know he could never get pass you in one dribble, same goes to lebron. the reason why jordan was so effective in these triple thread positions is that he never wasted a moment when he can get pass people easily with some stupid showy street ball style between the legs dribbles. jordan's successive between the leg dribbles usually served as a reset tool for him to find an angle to attack when his first option ( straight forward long lunge dribbles to either left or right) got blocked off. also, jordan's rip through (using your term) is particularly effective compared to other players because of his huge and strong hands. he had total control when he put the ball to the furtherest spot after palming the ball to form a air circle. not even guys with big hands like leonard have that decisiveness that jordan had in those sitations. but my point is that you see leonard doing the rip through a lot more effectively than guys like lebron, who has relatively small hands.

@@jarrodmason4964 Jordan was guarded by taller players a lot more than people like to believe. For some weird reason, there's this myth that Jordan was only guarded by "short white plumbers in short-shorts". When Jordan returned with the Wizards, he was guarded by Kevin Garnett a portion of the game in Jan of 2002 and scored 35 pts at almost 39 years old. The Pacers used to throw 6'9" Derrick McKey at him. The Pistons threw Dennis Rodman on him, one of the greatest defenders of all-time. Kobe was a very good athlete...Jordan was a GREAT athlete, which is one reason Kobe had to use more pump fakes.

Even the first jab and move based on the new position the jab provided. Notice here, Pete's left thigh did not move up after he planted his left foot. Squat to shoot directly without any extra time and energy to adjust. MJ was the only one I saw. Now I found Pete did this as well and before MJ. This move is very hard, but lethal. Most players have to bring their thigh lower again to adjust for their shooting, which costs time and energy. And probably stability.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. Its crazy how people never talk about Jordan travel almost everytime on his rip through (which kobe later copies). They both always jab with one foot and if the defender isnt moving their momentum, they proceed to use the jab step foot as the plan, lift the pivot and rip through. Its a travel everytime and its very obvious but never ever gets called. Just in case anyone wanna trash me on that, i will just attach the rule below. In starting a dribble after (1) receiving the ball while standing still, or (2) coming to a legal stop, the ball must be out of the player’s hand before the pivot foot is raised off the floor.

Off of the Tripple Threat, when he explodes, isn't this considered a travel violation? When, for instance, he uses his right foot for the jabs, but explodes with the left?
