Microsoft 365 Copilot brings generative AI (AI that generates content for you) into the apps we use every day for productivity and collaboration - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook - and combines it with the Microsoft Graph (where all your interactions and documents are stored). That means you can do things like generate a PowerPoint presentation from a Word document, get instant and insightful analysis of your Excel data, or even ask for a summary of recent emails about a customer. In this video I take you through the full announcement and what it means for the way we work, which will substantially change because of this.

Thank you Lisa for all your hard work compiling this and presenting it in a use-case driven way. When I was watching some of the GPT videos, for example "write me a C# framework to build an app" via natural language, creating Power automate flows this way occurred to me too. It should be much easier for Microsoft to bring this in due to their intellectual property of these tools. It's going to really help drive the "citizen developer" uptake. really cool, thanks.

Wow amazing and yes helpful. I am not an office person. Always worked on the road in sales and other things. Like being a Flight Attend. .but I can imagine ones big companies get a grip on the new technologies, the work load will even increase more.

Lisa you are amazing and I love your videos! Here is a tough question. California has a new Consumer Privacy Act similar to GDPR that allows consumers to request to be "Forgotten". Would co-pilot have the capability to search thru databases and document histories to discover those records and provide a read out for the person trying to honor the consumer request?

17:10- can co pilot tell when someone isn't contributing to a committee and send an email to their boss suggesting that they be removed based on blocking forward movement toward company values? Conversely, can it tell a manager that someone needs to stay on the committee and they're only being demoted from the committee by the humans because they're trying to focus on issues of justice and human rights?

I’m not sure about the privacy for this. There’s no way we would allow AI to access secure client commercial-in-confidence documents and data. Not even in a summarised format.

Microsoft is painfully aware of GDPR and has gone to painful extremes to account for that in dealing with data, even to the point of making thousands of support personnel far less efficient. They can't afford to sell something that would by intention is a problem because the EU penalties are too high.

This maybe somewhat unrelated, but I'm just 3 days into trying to figure out what combination of apps (there's endless) would be best suited for our small but growing business. Does MS Forms app that can be added to MS Teams, allow as an option, for the recipient to add an attachment? If no, is there an app that allows that. We want to be able to send out a form stakeholders can complete without needing to save it to their desktop in order to send it back to us, and in some cases we need them to send an attachment (for example of their insurance). I know there is 1 in a million chance you read through all your comments LOL. I'll be searching through your channel to see if I can find the answer on my own.

Thank you. Have a look at the new Bing search which uses ChatGPT in context of what you are viewing online. I’ve used that to ask questions about a video I’m watching and it draws on the transcript.

For some bizarre reason the corporate security I.T. industry whitelists everything these days - but still blacklists websites generally - which is failing miserably. Users will get so scared to surf soon they will see A.I. as that one stop link that can get them most of the answers they seek (and go surfing for them) without the risk. As long as A.I. stays secure it will become the ultimate whitelist. edit** use A.I. where you want....but treat everything as the first draft - what a great comment that was.

The other challenge is that we need to help users understand that generative AI does different things than a search engine - sure it can find facts (or "facts") but the real strength comes in when we treat it as a conversation and ask it to do creative things.

To that affect l love how the version of copilot we have in a Australia is more just a browser helper at the moment. Love the content Lisa, going through it all now and got a couple of guys at work onto it. Lisa, interesting video. Thanks for sharing. You summaries details really well. This Co-Pilot all sounds interesting but does the substance match the hype? It looks promising, but at present in my area of work, I've been using ChatGPT 4 with limited results. It is at best ok for general inquires, but I'm very concerned these chats persuasively present results as being correct, when in truth they are not. People are gullible/lazy/trustworthy and readily accept/believe search results. It's not my experience so far. It will get better with time. Anyway enough of that, my query is, do you know whether Co-Pilot can search PDFs, not just Microsoft files? Thanks, keep up good work.

You're absolutely right that these AI models do hallucinate and they are very convincing. Understanding and checking this is going to be a core part of the education and change needed for using them, but the danger is real for those who don't.

Because this brings the large language model (ChatGPT) capability into your work environment, it will have access to everything you've done recently there (even if the language model itself is only trained with data up until 2021)

Depends how you are using it. You can either design your own conversion topic flow which gives you complete control or if you use generative answers then you need to craft your prompts the right way depending on what you want it to do.

Thank you for having such a lovely approachable presenting style. Although being Scottish, I did have to look up why you keep wanting to add "dicks", which is another type of ai-generated video altogether. I've watched vids and read articles about chat GPT/Copilot for a few months now, and to be honest, I'm bored with all of it already. My guess is that IT in organisations and businesses (especially in public sector) will not allow it. What about Freedom of Information requests and GDPR management? How can education bodies possibly entertain this technology?

Microsoft have just announced that it comes with a license for $30/user/month on top of Microsoft 365 business and enterprise licenses. Currently it's still only available in preview in the USA though.

Looks like the copilot doesn't understand the idea in PowerPoint that the fewer words onscreen the better. The copilot style looks like the bad old days of PowerPoint use when people stuck full paragraphs on a slide.

You will NOT get Copilot unless you have Office 465 for business. If you use Office 365 personal or 365 family you will NOT get Copilot..
