I think this speed increase isn't due to removing acrylic effects, but to some other optimization techniques, since history also doesn't have acrylic effects but is significantly slower.

You can click the three dots and tell youtube "Don't recommend this channel" but also be subscribed and check in once a week on the subscription. afaik this doesn't hurt the channel in anyway.
