Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020| Drone Camera | Tutorial 

The 'Drone' is a great feature. I would also like Asobo to bring in a 'Replay' feature, so we can view our takeoffs and landings from different angles and POV.

Finally, a good video on the drone camera without having to sit through 15 minutes of the history of drones or the origins of flight. Thank you.

Easily the best "hands-on" demo I've seen. Describing functions/keys while actually videoing the actions is SO much better than, as is common, simply stating the functions/keys. Good for you. Your method of teaching/learning allowed me to touch each applicable key as I watched your drone movements. This is what I call "instant association". It is the most effective, fastest way to retaining. Some call it "learn-by-doing". Either way, I thank and congratulate you for a job well done. Fly safe.

Superb tutorial as usual I knew Q8 would show us the MSFS 2020 Flt Sim secrets. It will be interesting to see what shakes out. I was surprised to see in another Q8 review that there was no replay function. That will be an issue. I have not bought the flt Sim yet but that's another story. Thanks Osameh for all you do

A bit off this topic, but for those frustrated with the camera view system, there is a relatively easy way to set up like x plane. 1. Remap your key pad number keys to custom view 0 - 9. Those keys are mostly basic controls by default, so remaping is not a problem if your using a joystick, yoke etc... to fly. Then for each plane in the hanger map any view you want to the custom views, example, map look out the window left to 7 by setting up the view then lock it in with a ctrl alt 7 command, now thats locked into custom view 7, and you have remaped the key pad numer 7 to custom view 7 and wela, press it and there is your look out the window left. Just like xplane, now map any of those key pad numbers to any other button on other controllers. The msfs camera / views are much more robust than what we are used to, so it takes a bit more of a learning curve, but not that bad once figured out. I'm sure Q8 will be coming along shortly with a much better video of what I tried to put in words above, or with even better ideas on how to use the camera views function.

Man you are productive , just like a child with a new toy. Thank you for that, we simmers need that. That new fs 2020 is something, it has already relegate Xplane to second in my playground but i will continue to enjoy xplane. One major issue with FS2020 it needs a replay function. Bookmark is cute for cinematic but no analytical value to it. Besides in xplane you can replay and change your camera on the fly, that would be something to work on for upcoming updates.

Hey man great videos I have a question, I am having the weirdest problem which is when I click on the camera up in the toolbar it doesn’t open up the menu anymore so I can’t change it from cockpit to external or into drone using the mouse nothing happens when I click the little picture of the camera but everything else in the toolbar responds. I have to use the keys to change modes i.e insert key etc, but is there a way using the keyboard to make that drop down camera window open like when you click on it with the mouse?

I have an XBox controller attached to the PC because GTA is a guilty pleasure during the winter. It works G-R-E-A-T for controlling the drone!

Thanks for your video. You didn’t mention it but I noticed it seems impossible to control the drone camera and aircraft at the same time. Unless the autopilot is engaged the airplane is ballistic during camera control. It is possible to regain aircraft controls ( hot key “c”) but then the drone cannot be controlled. I will keep watching to see how you will handle this but personally the X-plane system seems more practical. I know you can easily create preset cockpit views in FS but IMHO you should be able to assign external and drone views in the same way so you could easily jump from cockpit to exterior preset views. The primary flight controls should always control the airplane regardless of the view. I think XP has that right.

What drone assignment controls allow you to move the drone in every direction possible? I'm having trouble assigning full rotational controls to my yoke. So far I have assigned translate up, down, left, and right, but unfortunately they don't rotate the drone in every angle possible.

can you assign a bottom to go to the specific camera one when flying from the cockpit? because you have to be on external specifically in showcase mode.. is there a way to go to showcase mode from the cockpit view when flying ?

Excellent very usefull tutorial, unfortunately when I try to go through the cabin door of the A320 to set up the engine/wing window view. The door of this plane does not open. Could you explain how you were able to get through the door?

Small tip: All buttons don't work in drone mod, so you can map anything and use any combination without any problem 10:30

If you have an Xbox controller to hand, it just works intuitively, no need to map anything. A bit frustrating it's much more difficult with other input methods.

Is there way to lock the Drone to the Plane's Axis', so that I don't have to always translate the drone to try and follow the plane everytime it pitches, Yaws, and Rolls? Basically, Fixed External Cameras that can literally move anywhere outside and inside the aircraft and allow us to that custom point as a free camera view! Is there also a way to make the drone constantly look toward the Plane such as from the end of a runway? I see there is a feature, but that doesn't exactly follow the plane, it tends to swing around too fast and go beyond the plane's frame of reference to try and capture the plane flying away as the plane is passing by too close.

How far can you fly the drone camera?

ok, we have the "MARK IN and OUT" points but how do we set up intermediate keyframes? If you wanna record 2 or 3 locations in one recording how do you set markers there? And how do you play between IN/OUT automatically? Because when i want to record a sunset i have to play back drone movement at it's lowest speed for 40 minutes by pressing SHIFT+SPACE for 40 minutes :), not funny. And probably an Easy IN/OUT between IN/OUT is too much to ask. Thx.

no not usefull about controles im all aware but i have payware of narita airport but cant look inside anymore because the cam automaticly to on top of the terminal how you can swith noclip mode on again as it was before updates?

I can't look around inside the plane the camera doesn't move around please I need help tell me what to do I think the problem is on the camera settings but I try everything it doesn't work..

It’s great that you can get the drone camera to follow the aircraft, but is there a way to turn that off so it stays stationary, but keeps the camera pointed at the aircraft? That would be the best!!! [EDIT] Oh snap! It DOES work!! You just need to set “drone lock” first, then disable “drone follow” then the camera will stay in one spot, but stay pointed to the aircraft! This makes for some awesome replays when used with skydolly!!!

When I move my camera back, and then zoom in and turn on camera tracking so that the camera would follow my plane, the camera inverts and follows a ghost plane. How would I make my camera follow my plane without turning on drone follow mode?

Can you go third-person and view the drone like you can with a heli or plane?

I would like to see tutorial that showing which graphic settings are cpu or gpu intensive. I have unplayable stutters but overall fps are very good around 35 to 40. I cant enjoy the sim at the moment. Thank you and great msfs videos q8p.

I can't use the plane controls while in drone view... is that normal? It makes the view pretty useless, to me.

Replay, that is a helpful feature, where is it? May be you can use the drone and record it, good luck with landing the plane, this is a flight simulator, not a video making tool, although it seems to be very good at it
