As a newbie simmer this is the first time youtube has recommended one of your videos. Camera management has been one of the hardest areas to get my head around. Thanks for this calm and relaxed explanation - looking forward to experimenting next time I fire up the sim at the weekend.

Good demo of what can be done in the drone Showcase mode. It didn't work for me, at first. Unless you know how to bind the physical controller to the right view modes, none of this will happen. You might consider adding instructions on setting up these bindings using the FS2020 control options menu. Maybe FS default has all these settings for Xbox. In my case I'm using a mouse and keyboard to control the views, and a Logitek joystick for main control surfaces of aircraft, and a second small joystick for throttle and rudder. None of the drone movements worked until I found and set the right control movements in the FS menu.

Thanks for this guide. Where are the default drone camera settings saved? In what file? I mean drone speed and drone rotation speed defaults.

Well done! Thank you for this very professional video. I will now take your advise and improve my drone camera skills. What a remarkable sim. The inclusion of this novel drone just adds to the enjoyment of playing MFS2020. BTW, I have been using Slew Mode to quickly move to a spot for further investigation with the drone. I will now have to see which is faster, drone or slew.

Probably the BEST video on FS2020 I've seen in a while thank you, so do you have your gamepad & joystick both attached to the PC? How do you designate one or the other for flying the aircraft versus operating the camera?

This is exactly what I've done using my Xbox controller allowing you to "fly" the camera around more smoothly and precisely and, in addition, I have set up my X-52Pro stick & throttle to allow me to fly the drone more like a helicopter (subtle hint there, HELICOPTER) as there currently are none.

So if I want to get a plane turning with a high AOA.. there is no way to control the plane after placing the drone? thats disappointing. They could just have a drone for replay and that would be infinitely more useful.

Patrick, I really appreciate your replies earlier, I wonder if You would humor me one more question? When using “drone lock” what exactly is it locked on to?! There have been times I can record a fly-by shot using drone lock and it seems to follow the aircraft perfectly if I don’t move the drone, but if I turn on drone lock and try to move the drone around the aircraft while keeping The camera pointed directly at the aircraft, sometimes where the camera is pointing seems to drift off the aircraft, and rather than stay in the center of the focus, the aircraft appears to slide off to the side of the frame. How do I use drone lock and know that it is locked on on the aircraft itself, so that it will not drift off when I move the drone?

Awesome video one other question how do you do a flyby cam with the drone? Where the drone is stationary but veiws the plane going past at speed so to speak? I've seen a few people do this in their videos but not sure how they did it?

How much flight time does the drone have before the batteries run out ?

I know this is an older video, but I have a question. I've been using the drone camera, pretty much since day one with my xbox controller, and I love it. I recently just got interested in trying to make cinematic videos. One problem I noticed it the drone roll seems to very slowly roll to the right over time. Its not an axis, so you cant adjust dead zones, so I cleared the right bumper assignment on my controller, and reassigned the drone camera roll function to my X and B buttons. It still does it though. Is there a way to stop the camera roll from slowly listing to the right?

my dronecam always go up is you want to look inside a building, i cant look inside the narita terminal anymore it moves ontop of the roof. can i switch that off so can look inside again?

What I really wanted was an explanation of the Lock mode and stuff (CTRL-Tab toggle, Tab toggle, etc.) Oh well, maybe somewhere else I can find the explanation.

How do I connect my ps4 controller

When I’m in drone camera mode I use a Xbox controller I only have the drone controls set to that controller but when I use my rudder pedals the aircraft still moves but I can’t control it?

How come my controller is not being detected when I use drone mode. My controller works with everything else...

How do you stop the controller from freezing your controls of the airplane because it interferes with my joystick?

Again, nothing against this guy, but I just want to point out that at no point during this video did this guy actually fly the plane. This whole drone video thing is the most ridiculous useless nonsense that I have ever experienced. How badly microsoft missed the mark on this really has me wondering how they are still a company. It's a flight simulator without the flight, since you have to spend all your time fighting with the camera. Now if you'll excuse me I'm heading over the Apple store as I have lost all confidence across the board.
