Need to see more before making a purchase decision. Microsoft make a habit of releasing new versions of stuff as we all know, office packages anyone? The question is will the additions be worth the potential upgrade cost, or just wait til 202x for another update? MS aren’t daft and just like in the OS world, software (addons) tend to work in the new version just as in the old albeit sometimes showing it’s age and and sometimes needing updates.
I wouldn’t even consider this unless every single add-on I purchased was transferable. And I certainly won’t be spending another dime on msfs. This is probably why pmdg was dragging their feet on the efb update for 737
They've already announced everything purchased in the marketplace will be transferable free of charge. With it being based on the same engine as 2020, I'd be highly surprised if third party devs weren't able to get their addons working in 2024 with relative ease. We will find out, let's not jump to conclusions with worst case scenarios.
We managed to stretch Microsoft Flight Simulator X for years and years before P3D became widely adopted. Why do we need a new MSFS every other year? I'm smelling another Train Simulator saga...
very FEW exceptions, aka the most complex addons like PMDG, Fenix etc. Your average players won't care and be happy with all the new content in FS24, but this trailer already made simmers angry and if complex addons won't be transferable and PMDG and others will ask as to pay a full price again, it will completely alienate hardcore simmers Also the so much improved Asobo Engine and I still can't see ray-tracing in the trailer, you can clearly see it's still screen-space reflections etc. And still no high cirrus clouds that I can see This just looks like what FSX:Acceleration was to FSX but for some reason sold as a completely separate thing? Either there are truly some big changes in the engine that weren't possible to implement in the current sim or it's Microsoft's management getting greedy cos MSFS doesn't generate as much money as a new release will, in which case it's not Asobo's fault/decision
I think you're jumping to a lot of conclusions without giving developers an opportunity to answer your questions and concerns. Let's give Asobo, Microsoft, and third party devs an opportunity to answer any queries we may have in due course before making huge assumptions purely based on a 2 minute and 14 second announcement trialer.
I just can't understand why people aren't exited. Instead they are waiting for an efb for the pmdg 737 and would choose that over a new simulator which is going to be even better than the current one.
Well, considering that no-one had any idea the original sim was going to be replaced and that was sold to us as being around for a decade, then spending, hundreds if not thousands on add ons and setup, its pretty irritating to say the least..
@@mwd331 well i think that everyone knew that msfs is going to get old at some point. At least I knew. You have everything you paid for, and a new simulator if you want to buy it. So what is the problem then?
@@nakkiveturi3471 The problem is that when the current sim was launched it was advertised as being a 10 year project, all the additions and upgrades in fs24 feel like they could be patched additions to the base sim rather than a whole new sim/cash grab. If they'd advertised it as a paid for update to the engine that runs fs20 then it's a different matter. My main concern is about optimisation, will I need to invest in hardware upgrades on top of buying the new sim or is it just all of the sim optimisations/updates that should have been applied to fs20 repackaged behind a paywall?
@@mwd331 how do you know they won’t let you tranfer products and as for the decade thing that’s like say oh p3d said they are gonna do p3d v4 for 10 years and year 4 they give u p3d v5. What’s the difference all I’m seeing so far is that. 2024 will address everything we’ve been wanting fixed in 2020. Never assume what If the engine has been fully reworked to make the sdk etc for developers to get things out quicker better and so on. Let’s wait till after flight sim expo to get a better understanding. 2024 also adds a lot of new things for people who just don’t want to always flight gate to gate wanna do all the things shown but can’t afford to pay for dlc or addons to do such things. I know there are addons for medic flight and so on. But maybe the msfs worked with those developers to make it into the base game we just don’t know yet
@@AxR558 Usually newer game engines are much more optimised than older ones. Microsoft flight sim 2024 will run more smoothly than 2020 with more big updates. But for now we should just wait. Who knows what is going to be included in the new sim. Maby even walking or multiplayer improvements like shared cockpit possibility. But remember that you don't have to buy it if you don't want to.
Nein, I don't think I'm ready for this. The woes and sorrows I have borne to fly msfs everyday is something I don't want to go through for another Microsoft flight Sim. No way, no chance, no thanks! Get the picture??
