Microsoft Flight Simulator | FSHud ATC | Full Flight Review 

nice review. I'm good with my Pilot2ATC. Added free Microsoft voices, leave the asobo ATC on in the background to hear traffic communications to it and I'm very happy with it.

Thank you so much for this, I've been waiting forever to see a review from someone I trust! And thank you for showing that it works at parking ramps and not just gates, I was wondering about that because I normally fly GA instead of airliners. It looks much better integrated than Pilot2ATC, and I think as long as Flight1 continues working on it and smoothing out the rough spots, it has a great future ahead.

Thanks for the review, pretty slick concept, but it needs a little phraseology and procedural improvements. I have never been required to receive tower clearance to cross every runway en route to the assigned runway. Granted runway control belongs to the tower controller, but the ground controller coordinates with the tower controller and issues runway crossing clearances, otherwise the tower controller would be overwhelmed with runway crossing traffic. FSHud issued a clearance to line up on the runway. The correct phraseology is 'line up and wait'. It's a small point but an easy fix. Also noticed that a baro was given after a climb clearance to a flight level was issued. This only happened if the aircraft was below transition level when the climb clearance was issued. Again, a small thing, but easily fixed. The clearance that sent me to the Airman's Information Manual was a climb clearance to flight level 355. In the conterminous U.S. Flight level 290 to 410 inclusive is Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) airspace where vertical separation between aircraft is 1,000 feet. I'm pretty certain that FL355 would not be assigned. This is given in the spirit of offering advice. I think FSHud is a clever concept and is a vast improvement over MSFS ATC.

Keep your great reviews a-coming. Sticking to Pilot2ATC until something bigger happens (if ever). I loaded various free voices with accents from around the world. All sorts of settings to add realism. Updates (via beta) very regularly too. Love it! Barty

Nice video, I use this as well instead of ingame ATC. For me, this program is sufficient. Just as a headsup: If you have AIG Manager installed, fshud uses the liveries and flightplans from there for the injections.

PPL keep trying to get me into live ATC environments too, and personally I want to play as independent from others as I possibly can. The more humans you introduce the more chaos you seem to get. I turn of MP traffic, and whether the traffic is represented by online or offline AI, I dont care, as long as it functions properly.

Latest version changes radios for you. Newest beta version sounds promising. What do you think?

Picked up this program to work with FSLTL. This video was done in June. Has FSHud addressed your concerns about waypoint spacing? Would like to see you do a video involving the 2 programs I just mentioned. Again, well done.

Thanks for the review. I was waiting for it. I'm curious how this works for smaller class D airports or even smaller? On takeoff at 35:50 there was another plane coming at you on it's own departure. Not so great on traffic control there.

You seem to have 2 monitors. Viewers don't. Weget the FSHud interface window pasted over whatever you were doing on your main screen. As a reslut, must of what you were doing was hidden behind the FSHud window.

I agree with you the waypoints are not large enough, I keep missing them also, think I’ll put the addon to the side for now till there are updates, hope they fix it

Not often I watch a hour long video, but was worth it for this new addon. Overall, yeah looks pretty promising. I did try Pilot2ATC and whilst the voice worked well, the rest of it rarely worked well for me. Now to save up the AU$50 for this - also nice hearing fellow Aussie accents for a change ;-)

With this software is the atc fixed so they aren't telling them to accend decent all the time? Because of that I don't use atc. But if that's fixed I would totally be fine with them handling the frequency as my go flight modules are a flop since msfs.

Many issues I hope they can fix. You have to fly exactly over a way point otherwise the entire program gets stuck at that way point and you get no further interaction with ATC. It also sometimes fails to add any AI at airports, big airports with no traffic look weird. Needs a lot of work. I miss Radar Contact

Not my cup of tea.. but on a side note, I flew over San Fran the other day and my great dane farted... I had smellulation with my simulation😂😂😂

Thanks for the video. I have been looking forward to seeing this product in action. I think many of us would love a good ATC mod. Perhaps with better TTS software, this might work. I suppose I am weird but I had rather use the stock ATC because I cannot stand listening to Mr. Roboto. All my mind thinks of is Stephen Hawking. Great work on your side.

Thank you for the video. Most interesting, but I honestly found the 'arrow' quite annoying, especially when it differed from the nav. The freq changes when crossing runways from gnd-twr-gnd-twr-gnd-twr in SFO were absurd, so you'd hope that sort of continuity issue is fixed too. On take-off from SFO, I;m sure the controller said winds calm, but FSHud had 280/19knts.....????

I just bought it but I think default ATC with phraseology mod is better. Why can ´t I manually control communication with ATC? FShud is talking instead of me, There is no option for requests to ATC, you can only listen and anwers are automatic . I hope developers will improve it.

Does this work with Microsoft flight simulator x or only the 2020 version?

According to the FAQ, in order to read the winds you need to be running Active Sky to inject the data into FSHud as it can’t read MSFS winds on the ground. I assume you were running that in the background? Pretty poor work around having to buy another program just to,use this one correctly (if you don’t already own it).

does it work from ANY airport, smallest one too?....update...yeah...so much tracking that i dont feel like you were flying that plane at all, will wait to see if this software gets any better.

Those are TTS voices, not recorded speech. I recognize some of them I have in P2ATC. Don't think FSHud adds anything new. It has a long way to go to beat any of the existing ATC add-ons in my opinion. Even the outdated Pro ATC/X works better than this.

PIC always, always is in control on the ground.

I cant get it to work contacted support about 15 times and reinstalled about 8 times get no help from support other than they can track something is over taking the data files could you make a video how you installed?

Seems like more trouble than it's worth, and from what I understand you can't fly into or out of 3rd party airports

Thanks for the review. I think that you are using the European airspeed for below 10000. In the U.S. below 10000 speed should be 240 knots instead of 250 it’s. Just to add to your realism.👍🏻✈️

Great review. I know you do put much effort and time in and thank you. But this program for me, not enough for a purchase. However, I sometimes use PFE from Oncourse. I'm not sure if you used it before but it might be something to look into to if not. It is payware though. Thank you again for the review. Stay well.

Good review, not a very impressive product in my opinion: (a) ATIS listed visibility in kilometers while in USA. (b) Text-to-speech quality was terrible - it seems like they tried to make their own text to speech system rather than using other options that result in a much more realistic voice. (c) Runs in a separate window rather than being integrated into the simulator menu. (d) Phraseology totally wrong in some instances. For a full release that costs money, this product is abysmal at best. Of course, even worse is that a product that is celebrating its 40th anniversary was made so poorly (in some aspects) that addons like this and others are needed to fix all of the problems that never should have existed. It's as if Microsoft/Asobo didn't actually talk to real pilots or ATC people when developing MSFS. Regarding FSHud itself - potential isn't enough anymore.
