L41, Marble Canyon - 1Z1, Whitmore VFR / DR / total chaos navigation ( as an homage to John Belushi ofcourse :D )
As a kid I watched the Steven Spielberg film "1941" and was immediately entrapped by the P-40E and John Belushi's on screen shenanigans, so I figured since Big Radials did such a brilliant job on the P-40B I might take it for a spin and try to retrace the route Cpt. "Wild Bill" Kelso must have taken.
I was, however, unable to pin point where he lands in the beginning of the movie so I found an aistrip at the start of the grand canyon with what looks like the gas station "Wild Bill" raids and from there, slalomed around westwards headed towards Barstow where his next stop is ( night landing! ). The P-40B has short legs though, so needed to make a stop at Whitmore.
any unorthodox flying is just me being in character ... mhmmm! :D check out "Wild Bill's" antics here:
