Microsoft Forms VS Microsoft Power Apps
Hey Everyone,
In this video I'll be talking about the differences between Microsoft Forms and Power Apps. It will cover which scenario is applicable for a Form Vs Power Apps. We'll also do a demo of taking an existing Microsoft Form and attempt to build it in a Power Apps canvas app.

This is exactly what I have been thinking about, I used both of them in my work, Froms can create fast but also too simple, finally I turned to use Apps

Exactly! The next video I'm working on will show how both these services work well together.

Great video. Would love to see an equivalent video using PowerApps Portals vs Forms (or in collaboration with Forms), as our use case is public facing.

My biggest issue with MS Forms is the branching. Once you branch out, you can't have the input required on any skipped field. So if I skip from Q1 to Q5, I can't set Q2 - Q4 as required. That seems like that would be a no-brainer, and it's precisely how FormStack Forms works. If the question is skipped, it's taken out of the equation.

This is a great demo to compare the two. Microsoft Form looks much better and easier to build than Power Apps.

Thanks for sharing Daniel. I just wanted to ask you about Power apps, what about if I want to use powerapps and the form questions should be always dynamic, and the user does not have access to edit the app to add/remove fields, how can we make this kind of configuration based on some list of questions provided in an SP list so it will be always dynamic? (The questions might be in different columns type DDL, Date..)

Hey Julien, Yes, you can. Take a look at my Power Apps Planning SharePoint Lists series. That should point you in the right direction.

I like Power Apps but when I realized that I've to set the collected data public lost all interest.... Is there any way where I can deploy power apps only for data collection without making the back-end data public to user.

NIS 007 Data is is visible to only the users you have granted access to in the data source. Power Apps is the front-end app. You have full control of who the backed data source is and how much access is granted. You can also use the SaveData, LoadData and ClearData functions to save data in the app only and not in any data sources. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/power-fx/reference/function-savedata-loaddata
