if you want to install Chrome on Windows then you may have experienced how Microsoft keeps on spamming to use the Microsoft Edge instead. They are not even trying to hide the fact that they do not want you to install another browser.
> take chrome > remove google's untrustworthyness(tho chromium did that for them) > add microsoft's untrustworthyness > sprinkle in some bloat conclusion: chromium is the best option
I'm using Firefox now. It's clean and apparently "private". I like Edge, it's full of utilities, but you CAN'T FKNG CLOSE IT BECAUSE IT WON'T STOP EATING 300MB OF RAM IN THE BACKGROUND.
I like edge. I don't understand all the hate it gets tbh. I get It's kinda memory heavy compared to Firefox but honestly it's not much. From my testing I've found it's around 300 - 400mb more. And I have enough ram to spare so I don't mind. Also more importantly it's packed with features that I actually use. Firefox is a great browser too but feature wise it's pretty lacking.
@@AlexisGamer_200 No, Edge is better, but at least you don't feel like being constantly bombed with online services from MS. It's quiet, works as a browser, no more. If you don't mind it being unable to be closed and keep running in the background, choose Edge.
@@geralt36 It’s anti-competitive. Edge collects tons of usage data that it sends to Microsoft that you have no way of knowing what they actually collect and use. And the fact that they push it on you so aggressively and make it as inconvenient as possible to switch from is all the more suspicious. I just use a program that Microsoft flags as malware to delete Edge from my system so I never even have that problem. And I directly type in the Mozilla url every time I download it so I’m not forced to endure their pop ups on Bing
@@Garberekk yup, you can use chocolatey or scoop on Windows, but very few people use package managers in Windows. Although, one thing to note is that these are 3rd party package managers, i.e, macOS has homebrew, Windows has scoop and chocolatey whereas Linux already comes with a package management solution built-in. Not trying to pick up a fight between OSes cuz they're good at different purposes of their own, but when the topic is about package managers, Linux takes the lead.
Unpopular opinion: I would rather use edge than chrome. Infact I switched from chrome to edge. I found edge to be more smoother, intuitive and faster than chrome. I know there will be a bunch of people commenting below like, "bro is from parallel universe", "he is working in Microsoft hahaha". But you know, there are some attributes very likeable in edge.
I love the fact that microsoft edge uses chromium, which chrome also uses and chromium is made by chrome, so microsoft wants you to use chrome but with a different look, like how samsung uses android but they use a ui to make it look different, and same with xiaomi and alot of android phones
I swear to god i had to download chrome because half of the stuff i tried to get an answer to on edge, was just replied with stuff that had nothing to do with that subject
Edge doesn't really hate Chrome they are just recommending crap that claims to be fast but it's slow Also they just recommend it because of they used to recommend turtle explorer.
It Also Says: Looking for speed and reliability? Microsoft Edge is the only browser optimized for Windows 11. Try it today That Is How It Says But Different, Saw This On My Computer.
As a someone who speaks facts I’d rather choose edge than to choose chrome, edge is basically the modified version of chrome because it is based on chromium and it’s just improving the things chrome lacks on
So this is just the same sort of trickery then as when you go to Google or RU-vid in any browser that isn't Chrome and you get the "Google recommends using Chrome" message in the top corner? 😂
Chrome is dog shit and msedge is also dog shit. They both run in the background without your permission eating all your ram and one of them doesn’t even allow you to uninstall it without cmd. They are both borderline spyware.
@@TheAikatsuFan i am old 42 lol I just got the hp 14 laptop from best buy yesterday. Microsoft 365intel Celeron . I have no idea what to do to get out here!!! Lol
Google has done some really shady shit, They borderline block certain search results and they throttle people’s internet speed on their websites if someone is using a non chromium browser. They have tried to buy out Firefox hundreds of times and have pushed their ad trackers to a Myriad of websites trying to collect information on you.
Edge is literally better than Chrome. I know that Google Chrome has Google Account support, because a lot of people have one, but Edge is based on Chromium, which is an open-source engine that’s on a lot of web browsers. So, Edge is basically Chrome, but it’s Microsoft-ifed, added with new features and performance improvements compared to Chrome. However, I use Opera GX.
Edge is so much better than the previous internet explorer. Actually Edge is a better competitor to chrome, my personal exp is edge is consuming less memory than chrome
