Surface go 4 with Intel Processor n200 actually performs very well in terms of everyday tasks like web browsing, emailing , office work, notetaking and multitasking. If you do anything intensive or high demanding like gaming or video editing it struggles but who uses surface go 4 for high end tasks anyway
How better is Go 4 from Go 3? Using Go3 i3. Android Studio and Visual Studio, light video editor VideoPad performance is acceptable. Slows down a bit if I have youtube or netflix running at the same time.

I've used a Surface Go 2 for that purpose and it was great. The best feature for me is the integrated kickstand. You can't compare that with a folio case or magic keyboard stand. It just feels right to have this integrated.
Both device have advantages and disadvantages. it depends on your need. If you need more on laptop side buy surface. But if you need a tablet functionality then buy ipad.
