Microwave Handle Repair 

Thank you so much for this video! The handle on my Frigidaire didn't break, but the bottom screw came loose and fell out into the inside of the door after 10 years of use. The appliance store wanted to sell me a whole new door for $250 or send a repairman out for $85 + $30 for every 15 minutes of his time. Uhhhh, seriously? I was able to open up the door, find the screw, screw it back in, and seal it all back up. Voila! Thanks, again!

Thanks for this. I have the same microwave and this was very informative. We've had the appliance for 10 years. I believe the heat from the stove deteriorated the plastic over the years.

You made what seemed like a daunting task look quite simple. Thank you. And the part is quite relatively expensive even on Ebay. But now I can do the DIY thing.

omg, that is my exact microwave and my exact problem (only it is the top of the handle that is completely broken, and the bottom is now in the process of breaking. Thank you so much for this video. Now--to find that part.

I just bought a longer screw #6 x 3/4 sheet metal screw, I had to buy 8 for $1.87 but it fixed the problem. Great video thanks for sharing you helped me get to the screws.

Ok that black piece is attached, that is the door, for anyone else with the version of Frigidaire that I have. It just pips off as well after unscrewing 2 screws on the left where the handle is located. My Model is FFMV162LMA manufactured 2012. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I couldn't use the original screws as they were longer than the replacement screws. I wish I could post a picture.

Thanks i have a Kenmore but looks almost the same. I bought a 3D pen printer years ago for fun and saw a guy fix a toilet handle with his pen. Going to try to plastic weld mine back together. I have made enough plastic parts with the pen it has paid for it‘self 100 times over. It a PLA pen some of the more expensive one can do polyester. i forget what the 3D printer people call the stuff. Thanks for sharing

how do I found out the right handle to purchase for my frigidaire microwave. So I can replace the broken handle

I have the exact same microwave and my handle broke exactly the same way. Had it for 12 yrs and I use the microwave more than any other appliance. Still, you would think the handles would last without breaking.

This microwave handle sucks. Mine was installed with 2 wood screws from the factory. One is a flathead and the other a Phillips head. No kidding! Do not replace the handle. Simply go the hardware store and by 2 chrome door handle knobs. Works great - looks great and cost $6.

I have a Samsung. Part cost 30 bucks online and the steps were the same to fix. Took me 10 minutes only because of finding the right screwdriver.

Ok my screws are underneath that other black piece so I don't know how to get under that.

My FFMV162LSA microwave was *almost* the same except the idiots at Frigidaire didn't line up the access hole for the top handle screw so you have to take the door apart to get it off. Seems to be poorly specified plastics in everything this company makes. The shelves in the Frigidaire fridge are also starting to crack.

Damn why do all these videos have simple to remove handles? Mine has the screws hidden under another layer of metal that needs to be removed. Such a project. Frigidaire model. Ugh

If you're going to make a how to video you should show every step. The popping of the trim seems to be the most important. You should have shown how you did that step and where you got the piece you used.
