This was a project I've been meaning to get to for a good few years but I couldn't come up with a design I was happy with. I'm super pleased with the outcome but more importantly the family love it too! Now I need to design some chairs.
As always I'm happy to answer any questions.

Beautiful coastal carpet python, for anyone wondering exactly what it is. These are common along the coastal strip from northern NSW into QLD, and only dangerous if you’re the size of a possum, rat, etc

Shop pythons prevent shop rats. Possibly shop dogs and cats too but I’d imagine most people “down under” know not to leave pets unattended since snakes are only one of the scary things you can have in a shop, shed or house.

The black epoxy was definitely the right choice, and that finish looks awesome. I appreciate leaving in the mistakes, like the one with exposing the loose tenons after cutting on the band saw. I've done something like that myself a couple of times and beat myself up about it for nothing as it couldn't be seen in the finished work in the end. Wonderful work as always 👍

After watching several of your videos and feeling inspired, I have built a long drawer for my truck bed, bought your mortiser plans and built it, built a chicken coop for our backyard, even though we still don't have any chickens since no one wants to tend to them, and now I feel challenged to try and build a dining table based on this brilliant design. Also, my wife has questioned my abilities, "If you don't think you have the talent or you don't want to learn, that's fine. I don't need a beautiful dining table!" I keep making things difficult for myself by watching your videos, but I really love the pain they cause me.
