Never apologize for grieving, this is your channel! I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s so hard.

I knew something was wrong the minute you said hello - never shy away from sharing the harder parts of life, you are right that it helps us balance our expectations and journey through the ups and downs. I’m sending you a big hug!

I am so very, truly sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing. I just want to give you a big hug. Last August our golden was accidentally let out of our house by a delivery person who opened the incorrect door. We live on a Main Street in my town. He was hit by a pickup truck. My husband got outside as he was sliding along the road and held him while he died. I got outside just after he passed and we carried him next door to the house where there happens to be a vet clinic. They were unstaffed that day. My husband laid him on the ground and I started doing CPR because I couldn’t do nothing. My hubby drove the car up across the lawns and we put our doggo into the back. I kept doing cpr on our way to the emerg clinic. He was my husbands best friend. It was a few minutes until someone came to get us and told us he was gone. I somehow didn’t expect it, I did CPR. I’m not medically ignorant I guess it was emotions. I was spinning the night before his death and I haven’t touched my wheel since. My husband hasn’t driven since because he’s afraid someone else’s dog will get out onto the street on top of his ptsd (he’s a retired first responder). I’ve barely knit since then. I went to visit family a few months ago and my grandfather suddenly fell ill and passed and I haven’t knit a stitch since then. I feel like my main coping mechanisms are too tied to trauma. All that to say I understand, I’m so sorry, there’s no “better” way to lose them and thank you for sharing.

You sharing your feelings helps me in ways I can't properly verbalize. Thank you for trusting us with your grief. I'm so glad that Annie had you, and that you had her.

I lost my first pup as an adult about 6 months ago, his name was Clyde. We only found his cancer a few weeks before it got him. My heart goes out to you and I appreciate the courage it takes to be vulnerable. ❤

Amy, so sorry for the passing of your fur baby. They truly take a piece of our hearts when they leave. Grieve as you need. Then when you have space ,celebrate all the funny times, precious times and those moments that were the best. All the love and healing light going your way.

My dog Sally went down suddenly. We sat in the waiting room of the ER and I held her, stroking her and chanting softly. The doctor was very optimistic and said that Westies lived to ripe old ages. They would give her fluids and keep her overnight. I said if anything happens DO NOT DO ANYTHING EXTRAORDINARY. 20 minutes after we got home, the phone rang and he informed us that they were prepping an IV and she had a massive heart attack and passed. He said to me that I must have had a great connection with her to have intuited that. It was only the 2nd time that I saw my ex-husband cry in 30 something years.

So very sorry. You give as much information as you need. My Wookie is 14.5 years old, we found out early this year that he has inoperable cancer. His health has dropped dramatically, and he probably won't be with us by the end of summer. All the condolences.

Oh, Amy Beth, my heart goes out to you. We lost our three precious senior dogs all in about 13 months… one after another. I think that the hardest thing about losing a senior pet is that they have been a part of your lives for so many years that it is so strange when they are gone. Oddlly enough, the younger dog that we adopted (after we lost the first two, had a friend who needed to rehome their puppy) and was left after my last guy passed, is named Gus too! He was okay after we lost his pal Pickles, but was much happier when we adopted another little guy who also helped Gus’ separation issues. When we leave the house, we now crate them together which made Gus completely fine with separation. He is too much an “agent of chaos” to trust out in the house alone- for his own safety- so crating is a must for him. Probably too much information, but again, sending you such a big hug of sympathy and understanding. Looking forward to seeing you and shopping your booth at SSK. - Laurie

Oh, Amybeth, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a beloved family member. I lost my little doxie Katie about 3 months ago. She was also 14, she had pancreas problem, then she had a bleeding mass on her spleen. She was my heart, and I'm still grieving, so your sharing wasn't too much. You do you. We love you.

I am so sorry. We went through this on Valentine's day this year. Our 10 year old pup had blood in her pee and I promised her I would take her to the vet and get her fixed and feeling better. A scan told us it was kidney cancer and her abdomen was full of fluid and cancer and she couldn't be saved because the fluid would come back. I was so shocked because it was so unexpected and I had promised her she would start to feel better. Instead I held her as we had her put to sleep. I miss her so much, I think now that the shock has worn off I am feeling it harder. She was a border collie and she was my shadow. I still go to say good night to her before I turn the light off and go to put her outside before vacuuming. I miss having a dog but I cannot even consider getting a new dog yet. Its awful. The cat does his best and its not his fault he is not a dog, bless him. I am sending love and hugs to you as a fellow member of this sucky, sucky club.

Oh Amy Beth, I'm so sorry about Annie. It's hard to lose any pet but losing a super good dog is extra hard. The detail about her always carrying a toy in her mouth so she didn't accidentally bite the kiddo really speaks volumes to her sweet doggy character. Big hug ❤

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. I lost my last dog about 5 years ago. I still miss her & think of her often. I would like to get another dog but my husband doesn't want one again and I can understand that too. It's never easy but you are handling it well. Animals have much too short lives.

I'm so sorry to hear about Annie. It's the hardest thing to have to say goodbye to our fur babies. We had a lab who we lost a couple years ago and we still miss him tremendously. We were worried about our other dog since she had been with him since she was a puppy, but she did pretty good after a couple days. Gus will be ok, just give him lots of love. Love your cross stitch projects. Kathy Barrick is one of my favorite designers. I have 4 of the Hawk Run Hollow ones started in NPIs and yes, it's insane, but I love them.

Ugghhhh, Amy-Beth. Sending you all hugs. I VERY suddenly lost my soul cat over two years ago. Literally - picked him up, set him down and he passed away on my bed. The only blessing in all of that is that my kids were too young to know any different, so I didn’t have to explain it to them, too. I don’t think this is coming off as TMI - but relatable. Especially when it’s so sudden.

Amy, my heart goes out to you. I just had to say goodbye to my 22 and 1/2 year old cat, Tidbit on May 23rd. It is the ultimate show of love and respect to our pets to care for them and not let them suffer after giving us so much through their lives. Tears still come to my eyes when I remember her. My other cat has never been alone either at 12 years old, and appears to be struggling as well. We are so lucky to have had them in our lives❤

Hi I know you hurt. I've lost a dog, and 2 cats within a year. My wonderful dog just died suddenly not sick just went to vet he was fine. My oldest cat (14) was sick and getting worse for 7 months. He passed 1/1. Then another shocker our 8yr Tudor started losing weight for 2 weeks brought him in and he passed at the vet 6/1. He was in heart failure. It's so awful. Why is their stay so short. Also Hand Dyed Fibers- Vikki Clayton has her own conversion to her silks which are nice to work with a little bit cheaper than d’alger floss. As a young child I had a Japanese children's book that was the cross section of a ship. Each set of pages showed deeper into the ship starting from the outside.
