We are still in elementary but we are using similar things! Using BJU English, Teaching Textbooks Math, and Worldly Wise! Feeling very secure with these curriculum choices, I hope you have a great next school year ❤️
My kids love Math Minutes. I always buy 1 grade lower than they are and set the timer for 1 minutes. My kids are so competitive and love seeing how many they can get done in a minute! 😅
I think I'm with you. Im cutting back the busy work. If shes already great with reading and understanding i would just resell that/return or exchange. Great idea on assigning the history read outlouds for her literature! I did do the 6th grade BJU literature with my daughter this yr and i did the 8th BJU with my son few yrs ago (he grads next week 😢 lol) and he LOVED IT. My daughter starting 7th in fall, decided she does not like online math and it is her weak area.... sigh. Lord be with me.
@thepracticalhomeschooler I think so. She's done online ctc past 2 yrs and she not really getting it. My older 2 was completely independent by 6th grade. She's just not. This is new waters. It would be fine except I have a going to 1st and 3rd and they still really need me and my multiple sclerosis is just about killing me (without the death part) so every day is such a struggle from the minute I wake up it's pain and this unrelenting fatigue. It's so incredibly hard to be so needed when sick. But I love your videos. It gives me new ideas or things I was curious about. I look forward to watching them while I'm resting 😌
@@donnabolt5847 o my goodness, yes that’s more than a full plate! I’ll be praying for strength and grace for you…I know you’ve been around here for a long time and I appreciate your watching ❤️
@@donnabolt5847 Maybe she would like Dennison? My daughter does not love math, but she really liked Dennison. It uses a paper work text and a short video each day. It is an excellent program and every single problem has a video solution if she ever gets stuck. It has been a game changer for my daughter.
Have you ever tried Fix It Grammar? I couldn’t find any videos about it when I looked back, but I thought I remember you talking about it before? We were thinking about trying it, but wanted to hear your review if you had one.
Aloha🌺I have been homeschooling my 9 year old grandson for 2 years now and I feel as though I don't have a sense of direction. His reading is pretty high (no problem reading at all and can even read Spanish even though he doesn't know what it means). I have not been consistent so I feel lost. I want to know what level he is in before starting this school year. How do I test him to see where he is at to get the appropriate level for this coming school year? I know there are lots of informations out there but I get overwhelmed by it and paralyze myself. Any information is greatly appreciated.
