I can imagine midir saying that in a very upper class/ as a matter of fact tone, or maybe even a bit condescend, kinda like how heath ledgers joker says things
Its kind of weird but since the Demon prince appeared, Midir seems to be more cautios by his low life, using ranged atacks and flying away every time the DP gets closer, Midir not is only a hard guy but a smart one damn
@@baduser103 I don't think so, I heard it was just for the later part of phase 2, and I've never noticed anything like that during my fights with her (I regularly fight her early for fun, and sometimes help my friend take care of her)
the laser-off at 6:35 was one of the coolest things in these vids, Midir seemingly saw the puny laser coming, flew back and countered with a badass atombreath of its own
@@NightHybrid Yhorm has the biggest chance to last the longest Aldrich with her arrows to do the most damage...soul of cinder to be there abyss watchers to be dummy targets and princess ..to do whatever they do
4:38 okay now fellas!!! this is literally an epic poetry type of a scene where the demon prince yells to show the pain and anger he is facing throughout in defeating midir but suddenly at that same specific point after demon prince ends his scream the midir roars as if he is calling pon the fearful souls of those foes he defeated previously while fighting them. This is just truly an intelligent A.I emotions being displayed there perfectly.
God damn. Midir is by far my favorite giant beast-type boss in any of From Software's games, so seeing him kick ass here was fuckin awesome. I'll always root for my favorite dark-eating lizard
Midir: *Fine. I'll indulge you, "Demon Prince". but before we begin I have a little story I'd like to tell you. I like to call it I KILLED YOUR FATHER.*
Know one else has mentioned it, so I will. Can we take the time to apreciate the level of detail in the animations of these bosses? It's kinda hard to see when you're dying repeatedly to them, but from this persepective, you can really see just how much time, effort, and care From Soft put into animating these beasts.
NGL that was awesome. Seeing Midir's lazer take out like 40% of DP's TOTAL health bar was incredibly satisfying to see.....and it didn't even hit him with every sweep.
"They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29 to 1... They can’t get away from us now!" - Midir
You know, for as much hate we can have for a broken boss, Midir does represent the essence of what Dark Souls is, that original wall we could not overcome, until you do and get that feeling of accomplishment. Because this guy will kick your ass over, and over. And that why this boss is so awesome.
I was rooting for the demons, they lost absolutely everything. Izalith was taken over by Ghrus, the chaos flame has dimmed till it could only survive as a spell, their king is gone, and now this...
But Demon Clerics are ghrus... and demons too... Wild life is wonderful, isn't it? Also, Demonic Statues are demons. But they not suffer. They just exist and don't give a fuck. Also, we don't know how important for demons was their king. Maybe he was just old man with big fire hammer. Demons can survive in this world, and, maybe, after many years they create their own civilization and kindle Chaos Flame again to be great and cool as demons of Izalith?..
Антон _ Naah, the demon prince is dead so no more flame of chaos. Besides, they never managed to kindle their own flame in the millennia since Izalith fell by their hand, so I’m not sure why they’d suddenly be able to. As for civilization... they don’t seem to be a whole lot more intelligent than non-human apes, or around the level of the first Homo, so I’m not sure they’d ever be able to create a real civilization.
« the chaos flame has dimmed till it could only survive as a spell » ... What ? What are you talking about ? The flame of chaos hasn’t dimmed, it’s dead, since DS1 :| It did somewhat survive, but not in spells, rather it survive in all demons.
@@nathanjora7627 pyromancy is chaos flame magic. True fire magic died with Witch of Izalith and Demon Firesage. Also, Demon Prince can kindle chaos flame, and flame of chaos is origin of DS3 fire demons (Old demon King is last of Izalith demons, not last of demons) Also, bat demons are demons too, but they don't need chaos flame. DS lore is very interesting...
@Nathan Jora but they can create weapons and clothes (demon clerics is really intelligent guys) and also very good in pyromancy. You need lot of intelligent to become good pyromancer, it's fact. But, we know, small demons (Demon Statues, demons-clerics) survived death of Bed of Chaos. Maybe, only big demons will extinct? Demon clerics can create Chaos Flame spells, and, maybe, they kindle Chaos Flame? They are named "Demons-clerics", so, maybe it's reason for it? P.S. Also, as I said later, demon statues don't give a fuck. Why?
I'm going to fake lore this up because why not: After the defeat of the demon prince by the hand of prince Lorain, the old demon king who fled with what remained of the demon race returned to the old ruins above izalith. The old king, sollumly shed tear for the son he lost in the war. The demon race had pushed and pushed, again and again, left to fester in their practical tomb hurried far beneath the catacombs had once sought to live beyond the cursed damned swamp left to them by their predecessors. "We did not wish to live." The king thought to himself, "Born of twisted life by the mistake of our mother, it was her hubris that birthed us life, and it was her hubris that damned us!" For millennia had gods, man, and all other walks of life damned the demons for their sin of existence. The old king, his bones growing hollow, his body old and weak wept for his fallen son, his race, and his damned kingdom doomed to fall from the moment of its conception. However, in a moment of foolishness, madness, or maybe the refusal to accept fate as it has been sown, the king stood up. He gazes over his chambers seeing the mountains of bodies of his kind but in his eyes lye only a sliver of new found hope. A land kept far away hidden within a painting was said to hold another world, one like that of where the first flame and it's guardian lay rest until a chosen is found. A land where all others meet encircled by large walls. Things once lost were once again to be found and things long since destroyed, birthed anew. This last land of the gods, perhaps they may find others of their kin, his son, a place to call their own. This thought was mad even to him but had heard ancient tales of the son god and his painted worlds and their properties. He would send only a few spies to what remained of the land of the gods that lye not far from them. Days passed, weeks, and months but finally his last gambit paid off. One of the spies saw a man with a magical piece of paper that transported him from one world to another and retrieved only a torn shred. It would carry only a few before the paper would be in disrepair. The old king new that he would only be able to take a few with him. Wish to cry, he wished to scream but before another tear fell the remnants of his people brought for their strongest. They new they would need to sacrifice and were prepared to do so. The king embraced his people his tears molten and burning hot fell for every life that would be left behind. The king collected himself and took hold of his mace standing tall and stoic for their sake, they were ready and so they took the plunge. First a land of ice and snow but their was no time to waist as the joined forth with haste travelling their way through battling all kinds of beasts and monstrous men greater in size and strength then even the black knights from the first age. Hardened through the journey they came to a church in which surprisingly they found no danger, only a woman who cared not for them but seemed to be waiting for someone. It was of no matter as they delved below the church and found the new land. It's earth and body was warped and twisted not even izalith compared, but their was little time to waist as they sallied out into the unknown, this land more dangerous than the last but they pressed on. As they grew near the king felt a presence in the air. It was familiar, it was in pain, he looked to a great pit that laid before him as the presence felt of two now. He looked below and saw two faded lights. Something came over him as his eyes grew wide as he delved into the pit, his men followed in toe. He gazed upon the two broken bodies and felt both joy and grief, for he had found his son but he had been split in two. He had been banished to this place and his death at the hands of Lorain may have killed him for good but his body split in two when being pulled to this world, once body felt the physical pain of being torn apart while the other held contempt and grief for his loss and failure. But the king embraced his now sons as he cared not for their loss, only their return. But their reunion was short lived as they heard a mighty roar from above. "He has come." said his sons, "We carry with us the taint of dark from our world. In such number we are like a virulent sun scorching his earth." The king swayed his hands and his men took up positions and readied them selves. The roaring ceased for what felt like an eternity until a black scaled beast of a kind long thought dead burst onto the sunken earth. It stood their grand in size and powerful in body. "The dark eater has come." Said the sons. The king new this beast would be not easily defeated and readied the last remnants of chaos flame left in his brittle body as he raised his mace as he, his men, and his new found sons charged. The beast was great as chaos fire met black flame. It was a slaughter but every death brought them beast closer. One of the sons fell along with the rest of his warriors soon to follow. The beast was bled and panting as only him and one of his sons stood last against the mindless monster. The king battered and bruised but not broken raised his mace once more as he slammed down against the beast. The dark eater simply recoiled and let loose his accursed dark flame peeling at the soul and stripping away the last remnants of life within him as his body fell lifeless. His son gazed upon his father's corpse as he was pinned by the winged serpent. His mind flooded with memories past, the loss, the suffering, the death. Suddenly raw chaotic force burst from the once shattered demon. Through sheer force of will alone his parts united and the souls of the other demons empowered him with strength unseen since the bed of chaos itself. He was the prince, the demon prince, and he would not give in, not again. He beat his wings and and beared his fangs as his claws set alight. The two forces clashed as dark and chaos clashed tuning the dark pit into a bursting well of light and hellfire. The blows traded back and forth, tooth and nail. Their moments grew bleak as they stood their ground. Both their lives were fleeting and the prince could see it. He readied his strength as hi siphoned pure chaos to his mouth as he breathes the last pieces of his damned race, his people, his father, himself. Rage, determination, pride, and hope drove his last offense. The dragon responded in kind as they exchanged their blows. Scorched and hollowed in a frenzy the prince and the dark eater charged. The gaping jaws and furious claws met. The prince felt all the pain leave his body. His muscles let loose and relaxed, for in this moment, one that feels as if time itself has stopped, he saw nought.... But dark.
Props to the Old Demon King for holding out as long as he did. Demon Prince might've actually stood a chance if he wasn't stun-locked to oblivion by every one of Midirs attacks.
The thing I appreciate the most about the beam exchange is midir uses his extra powerful beam attack, like the demon prince using his beam move excited him. Also that Dodge though.
Okay, this was LEGITIMATELY the coolest fight I've watched out of these. A good chunk of the Midir vs fights have been super one-sided, but THIS is what a dragon is!
@@finnlewis6207 Yeah it’s an instant stun for everyone with midir’s flame, because... Because, I don’t know why I wrote it that way anymore. Maybe I meant to say « it’s not a Yhorm problem, it’s a Midir problem » (as in « Yhorm isn’t the issue, Midir’s flames are the issue »), or maybe I didn’t realize he was talking specifically about Yhorm staggering easily in general, but I’m not sure why I would’ve interpreted it that way :|
I'm pretty sure if it really CE down the street it no would one could kill midir he has a metric fuck ton of health except maybe Yhorm and that's only because Yhorm has an enormous health bar try fighting him without that damn wind sword and you'll know
Ah man the moment where the prince missed his beam/laser, then midir followed with his laser to show him how it's done...so sick. Probably the most entertaining one of these yet
