though, to be honest, the thing that made Yhorm lose was pathing problems. It made Yhorm miss out on several openings, with him running to the corner every time Aldritch goes into the ground, and Yhorm then only goes back to attack Aldritch when he gets it by some ranged attacks. Edit: But yes, that rain of arrows is terrifyingly lethal.
Aldrich if you take away the bow attack he's a completely useless boss that can be crushed even by the starting boss. The only thing that makes him a challenge is the arrow barrage that he does way to frequently during the fight.
@@beetlepimp4777 It's unclear if Yhorm is a "true" giant either tbh. He doesn't seem to be of the same race as the Lordran giants or the ones Drangleic fought.
@@perrytran9504 Yeah, but then we also have the Judicator Giants, who were clearly around the time of Gwyn, yet look much more like Yhorm than the Lordran/Drangleic ones. It seems like the idea of different giant lineages spread around the world, with Yhorm stemming from the Ringed City one, is the only real explanation. If anything, the difference between the giants may be easier to explain than the difference between Crow People of Ariamis and the Corvians of Ariandel. Those are very clearly meant to be the exact same species, yet they differ so much (they went from having crow heads with beaks to human heads, for one thing). I suspect the only way to explain this is that they interbred with humans in the meantime. (With Sulyvahn probably being part-Corvian himself, since his wings look exactly like theirs). After all, if Seath (a dragon) and Gwynevere (a Lady) ended up having a child (even if it wasn't a natural conception) then humans and Corvians interbreeding should be a lot easier if we assume they both stem from Pygmy's Dark Soul (since it seems like anything (or at least anything sentient) that's not a dragon, a demon, Gwyn's descendant or Silver/Black Knight comes from Dark Soul by default unless proven otherwise.)
Also it mainly because yhorm takes super extra damage when hit on his head. That is why he takes damage when hit by stormruler because the wave reaches high enough to hit his head. I have seen people 1 shot him with red tearstone ring by hitting his head with claws.
@@galling2052 i think aldritch’s arrows doesn’t scale as highly as yhorm’s health in ng+7. So yhorm is more likely to survive it compared to in base game
@@azurebookllet9216 Yorm still has much more hp than all other bosses he still would massacre all of them other than Eldrich. But if he got the hit he would kill eldrich too.
*After losing to Aldrich* Yhorm: Losing is unacceptable. I'll take your place. Yhorm: not if I defeat you and prove myself. And that's how Yhorm ended fighting another Yhorm.
The part with Aldrich makes sense, if you think about it. First off, Yhorm has _no_ resistance to magic whatsoever. He can also be staggered and riposted if you hit his head enough, a tactic used commonly among sorcery builds. Now, Aldrich deals magic damage with his arrows, which rain from above in his second stage. Once Yhorm is staggered, everything after is counter damage, plus magic.
Bonfire VN had a video where both fought eachother, Yhorm won 2/3 times but really it could go either way disregarding the lore. That being said, had his people loved him, Yhorm would've been truly invincible.
Yhorm: *Runs into walls determined to somehow phase through.* 2nd phase Abyss Watcher: Nows my opportunity. He won't know what hit him. Yhorm kills Abyss Watcher. Yhorm: Now, where was I?
First of all : Yhorm just straight up executing Vordt, Old Demon King and ehm... Himself, was fantastic Secondly : SoC’s first phase is so aggressive, it’s beautiful to watch.
Fun fact: Even Yhorm can't stay against Aldrich arrows attack Fun fact №2: Yhorm take more damage from physical attacks in second phase Fun fact №3: Yhorm immune to fire
That fight against the Twin Princes was so thematic at parts. Lothric teleporting Lorian right behind Yhorm so he could stab at his leg and bring him briefly to his knees
Yhorm: Oh ho... You're aproaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me? Yhorm: I can't beat the shit out of you without getting clother. Yhorm: Ho ho! Then come as close as you like. Yhorm: ORA ORA ORA ORA! Yhorm: MUDA MUDA MUDA!
3:28 Pontiff Sulyvahn: "Oh you're approaching me? So instead of running away, you come to me?" Yhorm: "I can't smash the shit out of you without getting closer!" Pontiff Sulyvahn: "Then come as close as you want!" Yhorm: "Famous Last Words."
Actually he does a shit ton of damage he takes half a health bar the only reason he does less damage is because most bosses either have aoes that count as multiple attacks or the combo
Reason why Yhorm was downed by Aldrich arrows is his size. He basically takes all the damage, unlike smaller foes, like Gael, that only get hit with a portion. Those arrows even kill Midir in a single strike, as he too is massive
Aldrich: *Has like 10% left of his health* Yhorm: "Hah, too easy!" 5:32 - Aldrich: *Brings forth his bow* Aldrich: "Okay, that's it. I've had enough!" 5:34 - Yhorm: *Approaches Aldrich* Yhorm: "Now you’re dead!" Yhorm: *Dies* Aldrich: "You were saying?"
Actually he runs towards the next closest enemy. Since he is so huge, his enemy reader A.I. Senses other near by enemies and goes after them. But since he can't leave the boss rooms due to being to large. He just continues towards the wall. :)
Yhorm has high dmg resistances to everything Combined with the fact that the Abyss Watcher only does 30% of his normal damage to non player enemies means he stood no chance at all Then again 90% of these bosses stand no chance against Yhorm anyhow
If yhorm was still alive (before he turned into a monster), used his greatshield and was as big as stated in the lore he would probably have won against all of the bosses. Also he is probably weaker than he was when he was alive, I mean just look how thin his limbs are. There is no way he looked like that when he was alive
yhorm vs pontiff: Ah you think the profaned flame is your ally? You merely adopted the flame. I created it, molded it. I didn't see the light until I already burned to cinders, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!
@@danielhall635 Have you seen Aldritch use that against other bosses? it literally does the same thing to all of them except they die much, much faster.
I like how Yhorm was kind of minding his own business in the corner of the Abyss Watchers 2nd phase until he was hit and said, “You dare oppose me casual?”
Well, Yhorm will stomp everything except Aldrich, Midir and Gael, assuming this is NG. Surprised how well Dragonslayer Armor did, put him and Nameless King together vs. Yhorm. If it's not enough, add Sulyvahn.
Yes the legend finally gets a vs. all bosses video, nice. I’m wondering can you do Lorian vs all bosses I heard he works outside his arena(Not lothric though)
