Ive played this game so many times for so many years, over 15. Ive played so much that i know how the racers will react, even know most of the coded in traffic, where some trucks and cars will come from or be at since they are there 100% of the time in some races, memorizing each race down entirely. Nice to watch you play and relive the memories
6:34, after a few tries and practice, you can gently dive off from the right instead of the ramp giving a more controlled smoother landing and consistent faster driving
I've had traffic swerve into me to avoid me, Savo's second race in Tokyo where you go against traffic took me so long because of that. Doesn't help that the racers themselves will suicide bomb you for no reason.
that's because they are, it's such a shit mechanic. I barely started to notice it more in the final race. They literally program cars to sabotage you when only you show up. Still had alot of fun but the end was mald central.
Thanks for making this video man, i recently went back to try to finish this game because i never finished it 10 years ago when i was a kid, 1st paris race was always difficult, I'll try to complete as soon as i get off of work
For me Savo's route is the fastest, the trick is do all check points with no mistakes. You then nitrous/juggernaut down the sidewalk to the finishline after leaving the last check point on the boat. You usually finish 5-10 seconds before 2nd place arrives.
Thanks a lot for helping out that first race i was trying 1 hour to beat it but what ever way i choose to take savo or ivy allways comes first but that your way helped me to finish it and come 1st so thank you one more time=)
After no response from Antony C (commentor below on his method) I struggled for 2.5 days and finally completed it. Race 1 ( from above) otherwise this is Savo's second race For the sake of clarity - let's call the 4 checkpoints as below - Hill - Highway - Island - Notre Dame or whatever palace it is Secondly, the best car for the race is the Saikou XS and the Nousagi The worst car is the Torque JX because it is wobbly and slippery on grass (important for the Hill and the Notre Dame checkpoints) Steps: *-Use the first Nitrous boost at 1.06 (it's a straight path) *- At 1.18 instead of driving down the ramp, it's better to dive into the other side of the highway ( where traffic is going in the same direction) - drive into the fence anywhere and you're likely to fall into the highway there in the sweet spot *- At 1.39 it's better to hand-brake and turn right as soon as u hit the road and then take the outermost loop which will lead you straight to the next cobbled path beyond where the cars are halted due to traffic light. Otherwise the traffic is heavy and u may lose precious seconds here *- At 2:15 it's better to slow down and make a left hand-brake and enter the cobbled path instead of going straight. This will lead you within range into the road leading to the Notre Dame structure *- At 2:40 I don't use the tunnel and use the old barge on the right to jump. Make sure, using weight transfer, to land nearer to the second and third arch-gate - it's easier to hit the last stretch from here, rather than the left-most arch-gate which can be confusing! I did a 2:31 and even a 2: 29 before winning the race at 2:28
i did the Paris Unordered race with the lancer evo (Knight), its pretty good because it has a good acceleration and good stability, although it doesn't has a good top speed but its not a problem cuz you barely can go in high speeds on this race, with a good route like the one on the video you can make it
I sort of figured the white car was the one to have the fastest route but never figured out that the underground route was the best way to get to the finish line ty so much!!
0:15.. please pause the video here to watch the map.. - Turn your car/bike 180 degrees and take off like the second race - Use the ramp to jump over from the glassy building to pass the checkpoint at south.. - IIRC there must be a ramp near waterpark spot (close to ramp area).. use it to reach the building and don't try to use the narrow road.. it's risky.. - After you passed the chekpoint at the freeway head through the next (obviously closest) chekpoint.. - At this moment you just need a clean driving to reach to church chekpoint.. - After that you may use the tunnels (like he showed us) or you can use the ramp to finish the race..
I have another route. Its savos own route but backwards. No nitrous is needed. If you have about 1-2 messups. Anymore and just hope the other racers mess up too. At the stair hill by the church, the marker to know if youre on time is if you hit that checkpoint the same time as savo, if not faster. Its a very smooth route with the only u-turn being the first light by the eiffel tower
this race is rng based thats why its hard traffic and how the enemy ai is doing are the decisive element for casual players (those that dont fishtail all the time or at all)
Nice driving. I actually found a better route for race one though. I consistently get ~2:20 on it on "clean" runs. Your path is basically "Hill, highway, river, notre dame." The one I do is "River, highway, hill, notre dame" A rough outline of the route is to start, follow the river to the river checkpoint, Jump through the palace to the highway checkpoint, Going up the same hill one lane road you did to the hill checkpoint, Hit the main road with that alley at the end of it, go into the alley and climb the ramp to the rooftop. This is that gigantic jump off the rooftop that lands you at the side of notre dame for the notre dame checkpoint, From here i actually take the cross river barge jump. I find that i can drive that faster than the tunnel, and i dont have to slam my brakes for the glass pyramid. On a "clean" run i easily clock a 2:20. Even on poorer runs i still regularly beat savo. The beauty of route is that there are very few moment where you have to take a hard corner. The most important thing is that there are NO hard stops where you have to accelerate from zero. In such a massive race where every second counts, dead stops are a guaranteed second or two off the time. And a few stops plus a tight ninty degree corner or two plus a tight traffic situation or two can easily add up to a time that loses the race. Eliminating hard stops will probably guarantee you 5 seconds on your time.
Recently I used this route riding Modo Prego and it works! I noticed that we're gonna pass through the other racers in opposing direction along the way. I think this will increase the chance for the racers to do mistakes (hitting traffic, walls, etc). Now I'm trying to use other Paris' cars to see the results. Perhaps maybe Bryanston V and Fripon X could do it.
@@sinnyjohns4362 ive got it so that, with practice and luck, I can get times approaching a 2:00 flat on the route. With traffic off, i have clocked a sub 2. Traffic means that I have to take a less optimal line.
I just took the catacombs area early on in the race, then followed Savo's route, I think it's faster. I won the race with a time of 2:29 using Knight with small mistakes.
Man, the AI on the last race is the most cancerous thing I probably ever seen in a racing game, and most of the times is not even Savo himself, who is the world champion, but just a random ass racer! Also the Torque JX is hot garbage on all surfaces that aren't tarmac, and on the jumps too! Fortunately with your tips and your route (and a bit of luck) I won this section, thanks a lot man!
Funny thing is, Savo usually finishes at 3min+ for me, but the other guys finish at less than 2:40... Then I tried again and Savo did 2:42 while the winner (not me) did 2:31... why does midnight club have to do this??? the tokyo races were kinda easy
I remenber doing the first route on this race and done it around 2mins 14 sec with the Torque JX I hardly damage the car I always slow down at the bends
It's the ultimate test to see if you know Paris in and out, to see which route will help you reach faster. Very subtle way to test the audience (player) about (local)map knowledge
Back when I was a kid I didn't know that I could use cheats to lower the difficulty but somehow i was able to defeat savo in all of the maps however it took me a lot of time..... Then I started playing this game recently and believe me when i say this that i was not able to defeat savo at prais 1 at all.....i tilted so hard that I uninstalled the game.....
I played this game so much as a kid now as a teen my goal is to finish and 100% all my big 3 childhood games that started My love for gaming my last 100% completion will be this game And If you were wondering about the big 3 I was talking about it's sonic colors (the wii and the remaster) resident evil 4 (OG HD one and one day the remake next year far from last tbh) and my last one being midnight club 2 PC
