The old school games were soooo good then suddenly all of them became terrible I recall everything from the heat system to drifting to drag racing to photo opportunities for car magazines. The customization was endless. Then suddenly Need for speed was making circuit games with little to no customization🤨 and midnight club never showed up again. I recently found out NFS still existed now it's just some game with a tiny community. 😂
English is not my first language, so when i used to play mcla back in 2010, i was still 7 and didnt knew much abt english, so after doing a pinkslip and lost the car i was confused and pissed 😅
25:57 Cops do spawn in during regular races but honestly it’s kind of rare. I’ve noticed that they mainly appear when replaying a single race multiple times in succession in the games arcade mode. Probably done as a way to prevent players from artificially grinding a single race over and over again for some quick cash
I always assumed it's more to do with pacing and making events not become too tiresome. Seeing as cops can ruin the races, adding them to a gambling race would be absolute bs, and since multi-race events only allow for the whole event to be restarted it was probably a good idea to not add cops into that mix. Story events too lack them so they can flow better, outside of that one specific story race. Or at least this is what makes sense to me.
It's been ages since I've played MCLA but something that I always enjoyed was being pulled over, watching the cop walk up and then just mashing the throttle and see them go scrambling back to their car. Although will agree cop chases are bullshit
23:22 this is an odd criticism considering you can see all of the checkpoints of a race in the d-pad up map and the proper bird eye view map. You can judge the race progress from that. Oh and yes, Unordered races do exist. They're all just limited to Arcade mode and online races. Also wanted to add that you can get busted in previous games. If you damage out your vehicle while in a chase, you automatically lose the race. Cops can also appear during non-story and non-betting races.
Fun fact about police in this game. In the pull over sequence you still have control of the car, so as the cop is aproaching you can just yeet it and get a couple of seconds of advantage. The sequence in itself is hilarious, since the cop trips and desperately tries going back into his car.
I think i change my opinion tbh, i think theres no car damage due to graphical limitations, Midnight club has much better visuals than gta 3 or vice city but has less things to do in the game. it was probably just compromising the detail for visuals.@@frizzyrascal1493
Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition is goated definitely the best Midnight Club game that one has the best soundtrack, the vehicles, the customization, the races all of it literally top tier plus it's nostalgic so it hits in my childhood, they just don't make games like that anymore honestly.
Agree, one of the best racing games, just that the sport bikes are overused due to their OP stats. The Murcielago DUB is enough to finish the entire game.
If you want to know how long the race is going to be, you can access the map in the race and it will show you all of the checkpoints from the start to the end flashing in order.
R* would be stupid to let this series die. They would completely blow NFS out of the water with a new MC game. The only reason I could see them holding back is the perception that it could cannibalize GTA 6's street racing component (which it will most definitely have)
I started playing Midnight Club 2 got hooked cause my best friend said the game was a challenge. And boy was he right. The last few races in that game was super hard to beat. The race tracks were insane. But I was glad to see Rockstar release Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition was good. The customization was insane. But i have to say Midnight Club Los Angeles complete edition is my favorite. The races were a lot of fun. They got the feel of LA down packed. I am so glad for the XBOX Series X backwards compatibility feature. I put the game in and it booted up fast and I was ready to go.
Weird how much the map looks exactly like GTAV. I know both games are based off of the real life LA, but this map is so close, it looks like GTAV’s map might’ve been based off of this one, initially
Cops do spawn and will give chase during events. there is even specific lines from the other racers regarding it. Both normal races and highway events. not super often but it does happen.
Gta 6 needs a Midnight Club dlc/update.... Something dedicated to it. I gave a feeling they gta 6 will have great street racing, if they can do a Gta 6/Midnight Club collaboration it would be dope
I hope the emulated versions have found some solution on how to unlock the Audi R8 for the player. That car could only be unlocked by joining the Rockstar Social Club and reaching some goals the website asked for. I still have one of my old ps3 save files that has the car, all the while the ps3 servers were shutdown back in.. 2014 or so. Why the heck did they lock that car away behind that instead of making it a reward for beating the game or something...
Damn I'm glad I found a recent modern review of this game. I looked up the original IGN review for this game and there's this constant flashing effect in the video that people still complain about and is not fixed to this day...typical for IGN

I Loved The Whole Series Originally Starting With MC2! But This And Def Jam FFNY Are To Gems That Definitely Deserve Their Remasters💯. Rockstar And EA Are SLEEP❗️

I remember playing mcla on xbox 360 and i remember i kinda liked it because it had an okay story, great soundtrack and the car list was meh, but one thing that bothered me was that it lacked cars especially the suvs, but overall it's worth playing.

@@htxrique7622 I dunno, I don't get much of a specific vibe to each of MC3's cities. Detroit doesn't quite feel all that Detroity, San Diego doesn't feel quite like San Diego, and Atlanta doesn't stand out. MCLA's map feels much more distinct. I can take a look at basic any screenshot and at least have a solid guess as to where on the map it's at.
not gonna lie, i just had the weirdest experience in this game, i usually use my custom playlist which i have never changed, and even when playing just the other day, i remember hearing gangsta rap made me do it, and just before, i decided to take a quick look at my custom soundtrack and a bunch of songs seem to have been removed from it, again, songs that i regularly hear when playing this, i was confused as hell update - everytime i close the game, all the west coast hip hop songs and a couple of techno songs are removed from my custom playlist, so i'm guessing there has to be some kind of limit?
For what system are you playing it on? I know Rockstar had to remove almost 8-10 songs with the 2018 update. Unless if you’re playing it on the xbox 360, you’re good

Actually South Central DLC is in the Xbox 1 backwards compatible version it automatically in the download like how they did with Borderlands 1 360 Ver on Xbox 1
