The Uluru Statement From The Heart was written by more than 250 delegates from all over Australia gathered at Uluru, Northern Territory, on the lands of the Anangu people, at the First Nations National Constitutional Convention in 2017. After centuries of struggle for recognition and justice, the statement calls for the establishment of a ‘First Nations Voice’ enshrined in the Australian Constitution and the establishment of a ‘Makarrata Commission’ to supervise agreement-making and truth-telling between governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Kind of crass so close after Bones died- Haven't ever been disappointed in them since I started listening to them in 1989.

It can seem that way, but it was Bone's request for them to continue touring as soon as it was safe to, so I'm not all that bothered by it, as long as it's what he wanted them to do.

@@kidztruthproductions I was not aware. Seems strange to think of a 4th Oils bass player, while the other positions haven't changed. I wonder what Peter Gifford does these days.

@@artystaar yeah, it's sad to think that this late into their carreers and so early into their reunion that they'll need to undergo another transition of bass players, but it's just the reality now. I heard something about Gifford starting a bikini companysomewhere but I have no information on whether that's true or not. I kinow he's retired now, and while I did have a slight hope he'd return, an article I read on their plans moving forward had a quote from Rob saying "You can never replace someone like Bones, not in character, not in temperment, not in signing, not in playing, so whoever [fills his shoes] obviously will have to bring something different to the band" so I get the feeling that neither past bass players will be returning, but I will say that I am at least a little excited to see who they get and what they bring to the band, which I'm sure is even more presssure than Bones would have felt back when he joined in 1987. Why did I write so much? Oh well, I wish them all the best, and hope that whoever they do get doesn't get slammed with hate.
