This is a classic, and a classic Oils song and moment. Midnight Oil has always been about the medium AND the message. Bulls-eye on both with this timely anthem. Got my ticket. Can’t wait. Still the best and most powerful live band I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen plenty. First saw them back in 1981 Young and raw. The power that came off the stage was something to behold. And here they are 40 years later still kicking ass. Will be sad when they play that final song. It's as good as some songs on "Diesel and Dust" and "Blue Sky Mining", which is remarkable when I never expected they would ever write again anything that I want to listen to. It will never be as good as some of the early Oils songs, but you can't expect artists in their 60s to be as creative as they once were, that's part of life. This song came as a really good surprise for me.

Garrett reluctantly joined Labor 'cause he could see that The Greens would always be on the outside, making small gains here and there, but never being able to rule and to legislate. As Minister for Environment and Minister for Education he made extensive strides that benefitted all of us. The Murdochs and the right wing, and even many Greens would have everyone believe that he was an underrated political personality - Well, that's bullshit - Garrett has long been a mighty advocate for Aboriginal rights, environmental causes, animal kindness, anti-military, anti-corruption, nation building, and a host of other just causes. No wonder he's a National Living Treasure. Actually, you're correct; Garrett might have been better off as an Independent, but we would not have been.
