Midnight Resistance arcade 2 player 60fps no slowdown

Best viewed in 60 fps (only available on HTML5 player). I'm player 1 and Mark is player 2. This was played using an overclock feature to prevent the severe slowdown this game has. We did not use a rotary joystick for this game although the real thing uses one.This game runs at 57fps so it doesn't look as smooth as a 60fps game.

This game is a sequel to the previous game called HEAVY BARREL. Imagine that.

@@CONTRAEPICCORPS It's been termed a "spiritual successor", ie: it's not a sequel. But in some way follows or builds on some elements of Heavy Barrel, in this case merely a run and gun, same power up system, two players, similar environment and made by Data East. While likely some of the same folk worked on it to.

I hope Johnny Turbo's Arcade will try to rerelease this game since it has the same gameplay engine as Heavy Barrel which is already rereleased for the Nintendo Switch and later for the PS4

Man. That Battleship boss looks impossible without slowdows. Like it wasn't enough, that the whole boss fight feels like you're running on conveyor belt. O_o

That battleship boss u could just drop all the way down and beat it from the bottom platform instead of trying to dodge from the top platform too 😗😘😍

hi, which version do you use to play this game online? MAME++ 0.119, MAME++ 0.112 or another version? thanks in advance

I didn't play this game online, but I think it would probably work with MAME++ 0.112, although you might not be able to perfectly set the aiming on such an old version. It should still be playable, though. As far as I know, the analog controls in this game would prevent it from working on netplay with 0.119.

It's funny, I never made the connection playing these two games as a kid. They share similar gameplay mechanics (notably the rotating joystick) and similar graphic art styles, but the perspective (side scrolling vs overhead scrolling) are quite different.

This was overclocked by 600%. I think 400% was good enough for most of the game, but it still slowed down somewhere. I'm pretty sure 600% is good enough that it wouldn't slow down, but if not, it's not like I can't go to 800% or higher.

This run made me cringe 🤣😂😅 it's not a spend run guys, take ur time and 1CC it instead, show off ur skills 😗😙😘😍 I used to 1CC it in the arcades, excellent game for it's time, especially with it unique 8 ways directional joystick.

arronmunroe midnight resistance was at arcades in 1989. and it was ported to various home consoles. in 1990. ii was on sega mega drive.

Joan Bess I have heard of those versions, but I was saying that the original arcade version specifically wasn't rereleased, although I don't think any of the console versions had a rerelease either.
