Taking you back to the year 1986, this is from their "Headlines" album. This is Midnight Star's "Engine No. 9", another classic jam brought to you by guess who...me
Whenever I listen to this stress-free jam, I'm imagining a steam engine, with a yellow #9 platted on its tender, pulling a freight train 100 cars long and a bright red caboose at the end of it, trembling down the railroad tracks to destinations unknown across the globe.
Great group now this is music folks old school yeah miss this group radio stations need to play this bring it back i love you midnite star where ever you are.❤❤😎
This song (among many of their songs) is a great example of how unique Midnight Star was in the '80s, and still is today. They truly broke it down with this song.
Reminds me of being a little kid and going to all of the neighborhood house parties with my Mom and her friends back in the 80's. My Mom was in her 20's and single back then so she had to bring me along everywhere she went but all of the old timers looked after me and made sure I ate and was clean so my Mom could enjoy the party herself. #Memories #LoveYouMom #California
Midnight Star has always been my favorite band since i could remember. I became a musician because of them! I love this song most of all, because of its constant groove!
My first ever vinyl single as a little white kid in 1986. I loved the American R&B back then (Jam & Lewis, Alistair O'Neal, Whitney etc.), real funk and soul. Shout out to 'Headlines' too.
I remember when this song came out I was in Escondido California my night club days at the Time Machine that’s where that place to be with midnight star
we still play this live in down south funk bands, i keep my bass hot for music just like this, man they were funky as hell. midnight star made there albums by going to the club and playing a single at at time, if the crowd liked it, they put it on the album, man that was a smart thing to do in the 80s'.

The Old School is open to people of all ages for revision & learning. :-) I was 14 when this came out and it reminds me of my school and the great friends I had there and the girls I fancied! Thanks to Facebook, I'm back in touch with most of them. :-)
I've been looking for this song forever! Last time I heard this song was around late 86 at "Celebrations" in West Palm Beach, being played by a band called In Color from VA. Good Times, Funcky song.
