Every time I listen to this song I totally enjoy the way the backup singers and Gladys are able to weave the story together ... and how the lyrics intermingle.
In 2024, LIVING LEGEND, Ms. Gladys Knight, stil looks FANTASTIC, and her voice has not aged at all. At 80 years old, she can still sing her hits in the original key.
Brings back some great, cherished memories. My dad and I used to watch Dean Martin's show together when they were both still with us. We loved his humour and the great guests he had on his show. He has a wonderful voice and Gladys Knight, in my opinion, is the best soul singer of all time!
The truly incomparable Gladys Knight, the stunning Empress of soul! In December 2021, it's readily apparent that, like this gem if a song says, I'd rather live in her world than live without her in mine!
I love it when sexy women don't have to flaunt it. They're just natural without having to get all up in your face explicit. Gladys was like that as a performer all thru the productive years of her career. She was great looking, tremendous figure, great smile, natural sexiness yet she dialed it back and still stayed undeniably sexy and hot. This is a good example of it right here.
It's a dream♥ Dino loved people and never rehearsed for this show but he appreciated the real people. Gladys Knight and the Pips are my TOP favorite Motown group (lifetime!) and Ms. Gladys is always tops to me. Bless them all and everyone. This is somethin very special to see. ♥♥♥
Someone has a false memory. GK&P didn't record this until spring 1973. It reached #1 in Oct. '73. It was originally written by Jim Weatherly, a friend of Lee Majors, whose girlfriend was reevaluating her own career when Jim called Lee and Farrah answered. She told him she was packing to catch the midnight plane to Houston. Jim took that line and wrote MIDNIGHT PLANE TO HOUSTON - now you know.
