Midra's Manse | Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC (Pt. 4) 

This was my favourite boss in the DLC. The lore behind it, the music, that transition into the second phase with the embers falling as he slowly walks towards you. Loved it.

Fun fact: Midra's voice actor is the same as Father Gascoigne.

The forest leading up the midra is one of the coolest areas. The atmosphere is so creepy I love it haha

Little bit of Midra's lore, its not perfect but i did my best: Midra once married Nanaya, who taught him frenzied flame spells. Midra aspired to be lord of frenzied flame, but instead he become a failed vessel for such power and infect the entire forest and animals around his manse while attempting to be lord. This alerted the Hornsent, they raided his manse and slaughter everyone in there, Midra was impaled with the Greatsword of Damnation, it sealed the frenzied flame's power but cause excruciating pain to him. The Hornsent and Jori, Elder Inquisitor watching over the manse to contain the frenzied flame from spreading, although some of the Hornsent are infected as well. Nanaya told Midra to endure the pain and he did endure, until the player encounter him. That's when he suffered enough pain, take out the greatsword and become lord of frenzied flame. Just transferred my ps4 saved profile to the ps5 of Elden Ring. Good thing it wasn’t deleted. My character is at 148 if I recall. I haven’t played it since 2022 after I finished the first play through. But all is good, and I don’t have to restart the whole game from start to finish! Time for some Shadow of the Erdtree !

Glad that you got the frenzy flame boss and Messmer, you might want the summons. It is your choice. Hope kayaking went well for you.

The only thing bad about this boss is that you always need to kill his pre-boss form. Fighting him early is the best for the challenge because high scadutree levels makes this fight end fast and his damage is manageable.

My favorite area in the DLC and what a boss.

Sometimes bosses are just cool. And the lore around them, makes them seem as though they are supposed to be there, and not just stuck in as a hurdle.

There is a shield on the first floor in a place in the back that can help you against Mesmer's flame

Itd a shame she doesnt craft. I wouldve advised her to have clarifying boluses on standby for this fight. I havent fought Midra yet, but I like getting this preview. I have all the base game cookbooks. I don't remember if clarifying boluses are included in those, but I'm about to stock up.

you has 16 int and 16 faith for rellana twinblade , you will do no damage on the weapon art , my advice is respect your build , you don´t need 35 arcane for that weapon i do very good damage on my sl225 dex-int build , with 50dex , 72 int and 35 faith your buildl is low level build for that weapon , sl225-250 is recommended for that weapon, and also for having 70 int for spells

Have fun watching you. Talisman’s are very important to helping you survive all areas. I would always have the dragon crest greatshield equipped, the 2-headed turtle talisman if you have it if not the regular one and the PearlDrake talisman. those will raise your defense 20% and the green turtle talisman increases your stamina, recovery speed, meaning you can swing your swords quicker and a lot more often equaling more damage. For quickness and more hits and damage I would recommend using maxed out rivers of blood, two handed, and spam the special move button repeatedly for extremely quick attacks sometimes before the enemy can even get off a hit. Another very similar weapon which also can remind you of a Jedi Knight sword is the Star-lined Sword what you can find on the cerulean beach near Charo’s hidden grave. Same thing with that weapon tap the L2/ special move button and soon as it does it’s move, quickly tap it a second time and then after that, tap it the third time for a third special move… it often slices and dices your enemy quickly, level it up to +10 also, but it’s also important to practice with these two and also any other weapons that you like, so you know how to get the maximum damage out of them

This boss was so frustrating for me. He almost never stops attacking, one of the most extreme examples of Elden Ring's propensity to never give you a window to heal or attack. It took a while to learn his attacks and then he felt pretty fair, but it was just not having any time for me to do anything that caused so many deaths. And you have to kill his human form every time too. Ugh. Also, that design and the cutscene where he pulls the sword out...man, that has to be one of the most brutal and horrifying things FromSoftware has cooked up.

I why most people I've seen go through this era don't make use of Clarifying Boluses. Especially against the boss they would prove extremely useful.

That damn boss took me 3 hours and hes known as the easier one 😂. And rellana took me like under 15 tries, its true some bosses some finds easy others fina hard
