This is the easy work, crab season is when it gets grueling and dangerous. Fatigue gets bad. But a majority of it is a mental battle, and pair that with sea sickness. It’s no fun.
Mid-water is a nice fishery. I did some mid and some flats(its a dirty paycheque, but i needed the cheque) with an absolute Kodiak legend. I think he was just happy to have a fill-in guy who could sew. Anyhow, boat kinda looks familiar...
I’m still new to this fishery, although I’ve spent years and years crabbing and shrimping. If you want videos of all that I can try to put some together aswell :)
This is when a good team is worth its weight in gold. Im in the UK the magority of fish look like pollack but im guessing they are something else. You guys deserve every penny you earn. Ive done all styles of fishing but nothing on this scale, Respect.
I use to Shrimp but dang that's a net and the size of those doors Impressive,!! how all that gear and it opens and fishes Cool Beans Bro made my living on the water for a lot of years
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!?? Dude almost went for a spin in the spool with his foot being in the line! I thought the Oil Patch was intense... Salute Seamen!!!
Once you become good at mending and seeing the big meshes in a kite net your at the top of the food chain as far as deckhands go.i fished rope nets for decades.targeting all kinds of species on the northeast Atlantic.butters.illex and loligo.whiting.herring macks ect.tuned correctly they decimate all other ground gear.nice setup guys clean and tight!!
Why do not the gays have any kind of secuteryline. The floor is very slippery. I understand that is not easy to work with, but if you fall on see you are dead in minutes.😡😡
Mr Gump, I like watch these kinds of fishing videos, but your footage is to jumbled and all over the place. Try mounting your camera up high with a over all deck view and ask your subscribers what they like better.
I'm sure as a paid employee of the boat he just has all the Time in the world to set up a full on production just so you'll be happy with the footage.... Be happy with what you give me a break.
Good to see not much has changed in the 20 odd years since i was fishing down off Tasmania in Australia for orange roughy..pretty similar setup of the gear and nets...we had to split them into the hold then go down and ice them...nothing better than seeing the net come flying up behind the boat out of the water and just sitting on top of the water after it with 80 to 100 tonne of fish in it...was good money but seriously crazy weather down there..enjoyed the vid..brought back some good memories cheers mate
