I am working for Miele and I have a hard time explaining to customers about the Cats and Dogs vacuums. This video explain everything and I am going to use it on my customers !
This is a fantastic and very helpful guide. The red colour-coded comment was particularly interesting and the extra information you give is not easily available anywhere else! Hearing about the power heads, we are going for the C3. A superb summary of cat and dog Miele models and much better than trying to compare things on websites. Many thanks and greetings from Scotland!
Hi this is the best outline of all the models esp comment re the red colour that I had not seen elsewhere. Please take a bow for an excellent presentation. Regards from Darwin, Australia. PS, I'm going to buy the Blizzard CX1.
Thanks mate. All the way down here in Oz and yours are my go-to videos. Have a (coincidentally Canadian!) Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. She's my baby - but also one GIANT fur factory. We've worked our way through an old Miele Cat & Dog bagged (couple of generations old) and been wanting exactly the comprehensive info you have given us, to decide on our next one. So... brilliant. Many thanks! Cheers from Down Under :) PS: For anyone deciding - if you have a furry dog bigger than 20cm high...SKIP THE BAGS! MY Jazzy fills them up in about four vacuum outings. Not great for this old geezer's hip pocket, sigh. CX1 C&D, here we come!
Your videos are great. I'm in the market for a premium pet hair vacuum. Basically I'm sold on Miele after first looking for a Dyson video and being unable to find any good info.
I came across a used blue "cat and Dog" Miele (S516) with a classic looking case. It has an internal cord for the powerhead (not a pigtail) and a charcoal filter. The vacuum runs great and is quiet but the powerhead is a little noisy. I'm wondering if newer attachments will fit on it. I've had an old Red Star for close to 20 years and have loved it so much. I would never buy a vacuum that wasn't a Miele!
Hi Sarah. New attachments should fit without a problem. You might want to consider the SEB217-3 Powerhead to replace with the existing one. www.vacuumwarehouse.ca/miele-products/miele-seb-217-3-electric-power-head/
Hi there. Been doing some researching and learning a lot about vacuum's! I had no idea there was so much to learn! I do have a question for you: Is the "Compact C2" the only model from the "Cat & Dog" line that is "Sealed"? Hope you can help. And thank you for doing this video! It's super helpful! :)
Hi Roxanne. The Compact C2 and the Complete C3 Cat and Dog are both sealed units. The Classic C1 is currently the one one that does not have a seal system. There is a rumor though, that they will introduce a seal system to the Classic C1 in the near future. We'll have to wait and see.
Hi Tiffsunflower, All Miele Models share the same exact motor. Which is a pretty powerful 1200 Watt motor. For allergies, I would consider a bagged model, the Compact C2 Cat and Dog or the Complete C3 Cat and Dog. There is one caveat to this rule, however. If you have very high shedding pets, you need to keep in mind, that large amounts of pet hair tends to fill up the bags prematurely and you may want to consider the CX1 Cat and Dog which is a bagless model.
Hi China Blue. That does depend on the type of floors you have, If carpets, then the C3 Cat and Dog will handle anything. If most of the dirt is on bare floors like hardwood or ceramic, then any of these machines can be suitable.
Great question. No, the S5000 Cat and dog is actually a bit bigger than the C2 Cat and Dog. They both have the same floor head (SEB217-3) powerhead but the body of the S5000 is now the same as the C3 models. (Larger bags, tools on board, longer cord than C2). If you are in Canada, the C3 Excellence is the new version of the old 5000 Cat & Dog.
Hey @malcolm Robbins. All these models come with a dedicated tool for bare floors as well as a dedicated tool for carpets. So the non motorized floor tool is meant for hard floors.
I hate the fact the "Cat & Dog" is written on such a beautiful vacuum cleaner. The word, "comfort" written on the cord rewind button is awful too. C'mon, Miele. What happened to you being anal retentive about design?
